Re: The Transfer Thread
I was going to say Walcott will now want to go as well since he's contract is up in a year, but now he's most likely thinking he'll get to finally play up front.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
Its really sad but clubs like City and Chelsea are killing the sport for me. Its hard to attach yourself to a club when it loses its best players year after year after year to these big money clubs. I know its part of the game and all that but it still SUCKS!"The academic support at Ohio State, there is no way you can fail. Even if you're giving minimal effort there is no way you can fail."

As far as I'm concerned he can go if he wants. He isn't anyone I'm going to lose any sleep over.

CR7 - 90mil
Kaka - 65mil
Alonso - 30mil
Benzema - 35mil
Albiol - 15mil
Ozil - 15mil
Di Maria - 25mil
Khederia - 12mil
Leon - 10mil
Contreoau - 30mil
Sahin - 10mil
Varane - 10mil
What were Citeh & Chelsea supposed to do in order to crack the elite of World Football?
If you want to attract elite talent you need to break out the checkbook and pay those high wages.
RVP didn't owe Arsenal **** IMO. He sat back and watched the club lose their best players (in their prime too). Is he supposed to waste his prime too chasing 3rd place finishes, Carling Cup titles, and Round of 16 exits from the UCL?
Now, look at these buys and compare them to the likes of United, Chelsea, and Citeh:
10-11 Koscielny 10M, Squillaci 4M
11-12 Gervinho 10.6M, AOC 12M, Park 3M, Santos 6.2M, Arteta 10M, Mertesacker 10MComment

I'm sorry but after the last two Summers I think Arsenal fans have a right to be a little salty."The academic support at Ohio State, there is no way you can fail. Even if you're giving minimal effort there is no way you can fail."

Re: The Transfer Thread
I guess you forgot the part where Arsenal paid his wages while he spent the better part of 5 years injured. He owed the club more than the douche bag way he went about this. I don't blame him for wanting to leave, I don't think anybody does, but he owed the club more respect than throwing them under the bus like he did with that statement. People forget that up until last January RVP was pretty much an injury prone striker that had tons of talent but was never fit.

If you have a read any of my posts on this board it should be pretty clear about who I support in soccer. I haven't really been a Madrid supporter since Zizou retired. I actually find myself watching Barcelona more now that Cesc is there.
But yes, Madrid is as guilty as anyone same with Barcelona who despite having produced a lot of there own players have an astronomical wage bill, with hurting the game.
I singled out City and Chelsea as they are teams we have to directly compete with. I envy those clubs right now as an Arsenal fan but don't act surprised that I hold a little resentment toward them as well.
That's the last I'm saying on the matter as I am not going to apologize for being bitter right now."The academic support at Ohio State, there is no way you can fail. Even if you're giving minimal effort there is no way you can fail."

Re: The Transfer Thread
That really isn't too much to ask.
I'm not saying he should stay and play, and I'm not saying he should pay back wages for the countless times he was injured.
I am saying that I don't know how anyone can look at how he has chosen to leave the club and say it wasn't at least a little ****ty.
As I said before, he's leaving and that is fine. But, there is no need to kick us in the balls on the way out. He at least owes the club that. It's really not much to ask, but perhaps it is for the modern player.Comment

There's no loyalty in sports anymore for players or teams/clubs. It's tough to deal with as a fan but the business end rears its ugly head more often than not these days.
Hell, my favorite player is in China now after playing a huge role in them winning the UCL.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
How did Real Madrid get Ozil for just 15mil??
That is a total steal.
Ozil is pure class except for the last 10 minutes of the game when he runs out of steam.
Actually, Ronaldo at 90 mil is a steal too, considering the number of goals and assists he puts in.Comment

He was under contract, they were supposed to pay his wages. They stuck with him because he's good and they could see his potential when he did play.

I know all about the lack of loyalty and the business side of football. As an Arsenal fan I consider myself an expert.
He could of handled the matter within the club and would have went out like Cesc, Viera, and Henry. Lord knows that the club has it's faults and have to some degree brought it on themselves. But the man who was pretty much worshipped last season will go down in the Club history with the likes of Nasri and Adebayor as just another player that passed through the club and will be hated by the fans. He chose that fate with his public statement.
RVP is far from my favorite player anyway, it just sucks seeing your teams best players leave year after year that's all. It tends to make you a little bitter especially when you diehard supporter like me."The academic support at Ohio State, there is no way you can fail.
