Re: The Transfer Thread
Figured Neymar transferring out would be a matter of time, but excited for the Dembélé signing.Rice Owls - Houston Astros/Dynamo/Rockets/Texans - Arsenal - PSGComment

Yeah, the Neymar move seemed inevitable. Really just a new era at PSG.Comment

The Transfer Thread
Looks as if Lavia could be headed to Liverpool for £60m.
You tried to get away, Liverpool, but Southampton needs that nostalgic cash from you.
If it goes ahead, very different from the much celebrated great business (paying release clauses) they did earlier in the window.Last edited by Krebstar; 08-14-2023, 06:27 AM.Comment

Try and keep up Kreb.
He is also off to Chelsea for one of those long term deals. I’ll be ready to laugh when this massive house of cards falls.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 08-14-2023, 01:46 PM.Comment

The Transfer Thread
Well, I posted that seven hours ago and Ornstein reported at least six hours after that.
Doesn’t matter—it’s all absolute comedy to me.
As for the house of cards—I won’t count on it—unless the league eventually does something about Chelsea’s little Saudi connection, and I don’t trust they will.Last edited by Krebstar; 08-14-2023, 02:15 PM.Comment

And what Saudi Connection would that be?
The one that has a 5% minority share in Clearlake’s hotel empire or the one that saw us offload big name players in a similar way that Liverpool, Real Madrid, etc… eventually did?

Re: The Transfer Thread
It’s a bit tin foil hat, I’ll admit, so I’ll give the investigative journalists their chance.
But let’s get it clear from the start—Saudi’s PIF has invested in Clearlake Capital, who (last reported that I’m aware of) own 60% of Chelsea. They’ve also invested in and work with Cain International—that’s the hotel group you’re referring to.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
Liverpool adding to their collection of national team captains. Endo is basically new Milner, so I’m happy with that - he’ll put in a solid few years filling in where he can.
Doucoure would be interesting but we’ll see what happens there. I think the chances increased with Olise signing a new deal.Comment

BREAKING NEWS: Al-Ittihad are preparing a £120m bid for Mohamed Salah
Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad are willing to pay over £120million to land Salah but Liverpool continue to insist that such offers would be rejected and that he is not for sale.
Liverpool have, however, been asking around about forwards in the market place which could be a precaution with the Saudi window remaining open until September 7.
What does everyone think of this? Klopp has countless times denied he is going anywhere but these rumors continue to grow. Is it genuine or just bs for the most part?
I'm kinda torn on this. He has been phenomenal for us, especially in the 2017-18 season with the then record of 32 PL goals. He's now 31, slowed down quite a bit for me over the last year and half or so. We probably would never see that type of figure offered for him again.
Would we dare sell him now with the window closed tomorrow? Is Nunez, Jota, Gakpo enough to see us through until the January window? I'm not so sure.Comment

I don't think you sell him this year because of the timing but next year he's 100% gone, just too much money being thrown around for him to not to want to leave considering he's won everything there is at Liverpool. You'd still get ~100 mil for him IMO next year but you'd at least have time to scout your replacement properly.
The questions is...what # could Saudi throw at FSG this year that would make them sell.Comment
