Arsenal sign 19 year old right back Carl Jenkinson from Charlton. Hopefully can be ready to fill in for Sagna in a few years in any competition needed.

Great deal for United. 16 million might seem a bit much currently but I think he's the Vidic to Smalling's Ferdinand. I watched a lot of Rovers games at the beginning last year-- don't ask, I like to bet on Big Sam's teams 'cause you never know when they might pull off an upset-- and before he got hurt he was showing a lot of potential. He's aggressive and likes to attack the ball, and strong in the air as well.

Though this does make one wonder if Evans will go down the John O'Shea route-- lots of expectations in the beginning, then slowly becomes a dependable squad player filling in all over the pitch.

Also, Ashley Young to Manchester United seems to be nearing. One question, where does he fit into that team? No, seriously. Am I missing something or are they going to have too many players sitting on the bench who would rather be starting.
The problem with that philosophy is that they don't have City money. Its looking like Henry is gambling that these young English players grow into what they were paid for. Its a very risky gamble and if it goes wrong could leave Liverpool in worst shape than it was when Henry got there.

Personally I think it will blow up in Liverpool's face. Young English players that don't live up to the hype are a dime a dozen.

Also, at least when City splashed that kind of cash it was for already established players. These last two Liverpool signings put any City signing to shame.

Palermo have confirmed a double signing. Hungarian midfielder Adam Simon and defender Eros Pisano arrive from Haladas and Varese respectively.

Sounds like Sunderland is using the Henderson money to go for Wes Brown and Darron Gibson

I don't know about you, but I know a few United supporters who would pay to see Brown leave.

Sign him up Villa, we'll sell Aquilani to him.

United only have three "true" wingers. Valencia and Park missed a lot of time last year through injury and international duty and Nani was the only option. I don't think Sir Alex wants to rely on Obertan and Bebe or have to play Fletcher or Gibson out wide again.

Additionally, if they decide to play Rooney up top on his own, Young could play off of him.

His versatility is his biggest asset. He can play on both wings, through the middle, and his delivery on set pieces is something that United have been lacking for a few seasons.

And United play up to 60 games a season. The players will get their games.

I thought Liverpool was done with the ridiculous signings. Seems like they're just getting started.

EDIT: Rafa will NOT be the manager at AV according to Soccernet.

Yeah, I would be worried if I were a Liverpool supporter. I like that Henry is going younger but he is paying for guys like Henderson and Carroll when he use that money to get guys like Hazzard, Neymar, or Pastore.

With the combined transfer fees of Carroll and Henderson add 5 million more pounds and you could get two of the above mentioned guys.
