Re: The Transfer Thread
Arsenal linked with Draxler for 60m, because if there is one thing Arsenal needs, it's more attacking midfielders.
Saw an Arsenal fan online saying there are rumors that Draxler will be converted to striker like Henry/RVP. Arsenal is so far away from signing a striker that their fans are now forced to hypothesize which of their midfielders can pretend to be strikers so they can tell themselves they have signed one.
We've reached peak Arsenal already and it's only July 11th.Comment

Who do Arsenal fans want?Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
the big two fans want are Griezman and Lacazette.
I don't see the club paying the money for Griezman.
Lacazette is a definite possibility and the club will probably get their money's worth, but I don't think he is the long term answer. Then again, it doesn't matter if club doesn't even put a bid on him.
There there is or was the whole Giroud + cash trade for Higuain. I doubt this fell apart because of the leaked information, but most likely over the 50 million in cash. Then again, why not trade Walcott, Ox, and Gibbs instead of Giroud.
But hey, Welbeck will probably be back from injury sometime next season and that is a new signing. /facepalmComment

Re: The Transfer Thread
Swapping Giroud seems like the dumbest idea imaginable, basically just puts you in the same position you are currently in, just with a better striker. One injury to Higuain and you are fielding Walcott or Sanogo.
Why wouldn't Lacazette be a long term solution? Isn't he only like 24 or 25?Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
Klopp's retool in full swing.
Martin Skrtel to Fenerbahce for about £5.5 million, and Jordon Ibe to Bournemouth for £15 million are complete.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
And we are close to flogging Spanish flop Luis Alberto for about £7m back to Spain.Comment

The Transfer Thread
No disrespect Arsenal fans but Griezman's next jump will be to a Real/Barca/PSG/Bayern big club.
He seems to love Spain and Atletico is riding high right now so it wouldn't surprise if he stayed until one of them came calling.

Re: The Transfer Thread
If you are looking for a go-to guy though, a top tier complete striker, you guys are either going to have to spend a crazy amount of money, or get really lucky with a young player.Comment

I guess Emery would be the wild card though. Maybe he can turn PSG into an actual European challenger.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
Yeah I was just thinking transfer money plus the ability to pay wages, Champions league footy, the familiarity with Emery knowing his game, and maybe the allure of being the biggest French name at the biggest French club.
Tactically he'd only perfectly fit on a handful of clubs though.
