Lol I guess not. I wouldn't sell him anyway. I know the offer is huge but Tonali is a guy who could become a club icon.

The Transfer Thread
West Ham are trying their best to not violate FFP which means bringing in a lot of money soon, and currently it seems Arsenal are leading the race to aid them in their mission.
Time to walk away soon, though, for **** sake don’t go any higher.

City have stepped away—your savior shall be Arsenal, David Sullivan, fear not. £105m incoming! Didn’t think Stan had it in him, but he got a taste of winning.Last edited by Krebstar; 06-28-2023, 06:46 AM.Comment

I wonder if the City interest was actually legit or were they just trying to sell inflate the price.
Either way that’s a good get for Arsenal, even if you can or can’t get rid of Partey

Re: The Transfer Thread
It seems it's going to happen now, and it's a great signing, and quite the Xhaka replacement. Really hoping we can do some decent outgoing business, though (I think we can reach 'decent' with Xhaka, Tierney, Balogun, and Holding).
It is insane money for Rice, but it's:
1. PL club to PL club
2. Young, talented, and experienced English player
3. The year 2023 when transfer fees continue to bonkers
4. Essentially the same price as Grealish, for what could be a more impactful player for years to come (debatable, but worth mentioning)
(For the record, when I previously said "don't go any higher" that was in reference to £110m, £120m, etc) as for months it's been fairly obvious Arsenal would go up to £100m for Rice.)Last edited by Krebstar; 06-28-2023, 03:30 PM.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
I think it was likely legit, and Arsenal likely always knew they'd be going to £100m. I think City figured, why not, but for years they've been smart about not going above their valuations of players.

As a Chelsea fan you don’t have to justify price to me lol. I rate Rice and think he’s improved every year in terms of his all around game. All those things you mentioned plus one that never is, he’s ALWAYS available. I think he’s missed something like 1 or 2 matches in his career.
The old “they have 1 year remaining on their contract so they should be cheap” cliche is out the window. Declan for 100, Mount for 50, Mbappe for 250. Money isn’t real anymore in the UK

Re: The Transfer Thread
We’ll see if they can come up with the fee Liverpool wants. That club doesn’t have access to the fund, and I think they are blowing all the money they have for this on the salary offer.
Fabinho is also being courted by a Saudi club. This would far be worse than Hendo leaving. He actually played much better later in the season the further after the birth of his first child the season went. And is the only experienced destroyer DM at the club. Hendo just gets run past for the most part now and was told he wouldn’t be getting many minutes.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
So apparently it takes 70 minutes to get from Gerrard's club in Saudi Arabia to Bahrain where you can drink alcohol if he plans on recruiting more Englishmen. I don't think Henderson drinks but yeah that's a sales pitch.Comment
