Going to a pro is the best investment one can make when trying to get better. I won two auctions this year for lessons, and I just finished up with one pro who I've worked with in the past.

For me, my biggest weakness was an over the top swing, so my drives had consistently been sliced. After about 2 months of working on it, I feel pretty confident that I have the new mechanics down. So my miss hit is now a pull hook instead of a slice, which I will take all day. My irons and hybrids are good enough right now to keep me in the 90s, but I still need to work on my drivers. If I can keep my driver in play, then I could easily take 5 strokes off my handicap. It's still a work in progress, but I think I am going to have some pretty good rounds this season.

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

The game has been in a real good place. Now that golf season is fully here I'm starting to get into the swing of things. Putter has been out to an outrageously hot start. Paradym driver is just finding fairways. Everything else coming together. Went home to Wisconsin a couple weeks ago and shot 80, 83, 77, 78, 82, 77 at some of the local courses to my hometown. Played yesterday back in Michigan and fired a little 75 with 25 putts. felt like a round where everything came together. Handicap has been as high as 7.8, as low as 7.0, and sits at a 7.2 right now with some good scores coming off from last year. Game feels in a good place right now. Few golf trips planned in the late summer/early fall, so trying to stay dialed for those.

Great work, man! Love to hear it's going well for you.

And agreed. It was expensive but worth it. Played a round later that day and even though I didn't shoot my best score, the lesson (which just focused on takeaway) already paid dividends that my friends noticed.

Definitely going back. Super cool dude, great instruction.

So I've had five lessons this summer, and my game is as good as it's been in years. I have never been so accurate with my irons in my life, and my driver misses are usually still in play. I actually lost about 15 yards with my driver, but I have been hitting more fairways than I usually do, so I can't complain.

I am really looking forward to Friday. I am playing my buddy, and we give strokes. My handicap is a 24 right now, but I have been playing closer to a 14. Going to clean that boy out!

Hopefully our building gets done within next week or so and I can start on getting it set up.
UPDATE:

Still have some ceiling work to do and some cosmetics but it's coming along nicely.

Insanely envious of that golf sim setup. If only I had room to do something like that...

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

So I had the lie angle on my irons and wedges bent 1 degree upright and wow what a difference. I had a very tight dispersion on the range.
