With the sweep of the Padres, the Tigers increased their lead in the A.L. Central to 14.5 games over the Twins, who won 2 of 3 against the White Sox.

Padres' outfielder Juan Soto broke his ankle in Sunday afternoon's game against the Tigers. Soto broke the ankle sliding into second base after hitting a double. Soto, who was hitting .307 with 22 HR and 56 RBI. Soto is expected to miss at least 2 months.
