With the sweep of the Rays, the Tigers increased their Central division lead to 19 games over the second place Minnesota Twins.
The Blue Jays lead the A.L. East by 11.5 games over the Yankees. The Astros lead the West by 2.5 games over the Rangers. The Twins, Yankees, and Rangers hold the three Wild Card spots, with the Rays just 1 game back, and the Angels 1.5 games back.
In the National League, the Braves lead the East by 12.5 games over the Mets. The Brewers lead the Central by 5 games over the Cardinals. The Dodgers lead the West by 6 games over the Padres. The Mets, Cardinals, and Padres hold the three Wild Card spots. The Pirates are just 1.5 games back, and the Cubs 6.5 back.
Outfielder Austin Meadows was activated from the I.L., and recalled from his rehab assignment in Toledo. In 19 at bats with the Mud Hens, Meadows hit .474 with a home run and 7 RBI. Prior to his I.L. stint, Meadows was hitting .248 with 7 HR and 33 RBI in 40 games with the Tigers.
