MLB 2K12 - PC Impressions
Downloaded from amazon. Just finished playing a few innings. Some of the framerate issues that console users are experiencing are also prevalent in the pc version. But when i disabled vsync, it helped smoothed things some. I have all video and graphics settings at the highest. Looks pretty nice. The game seems to have a nice feel and pace to it. But you can tell in certain spots, it's more like a 2k11 update. Definitely improved in some areas, but lacks polish in others. It's too early to tell, but the pc version seems to be the best of the bunch.Tags: None -
re: MLB 2K12 - PC Impressions
Hey mooch. I play the PC version of 2K11. How bad is the framerate issue, really? I noticed in the pastapadre vids that with every single hit, there was a slight pause/stutter right after the ball makes contact with the bat. If that's in the game this year, I'll just be sticking with 2K11. I just couldn't deal with something so obviously wrong with the game. -

I also downloaded from Amazon. Almost all the stutter if seen in the 360 and Ps3 demos, I don't see on the PC version. Looks alittle cleaner. Plays smooth. I like it.

Frame rate issues can be your pc, especially if you have all the settings at the highest. What's your bench marking frame rate?Comment

re: MLB 2K12 - PC Impressions
This game should be running as fast as your pc allows. If you don't have the power, it will have frame rate issues. It'd be like sticking Jeff Gordon behind the wheel of my taurus and wondering why he isn't driving really fast.Comment

re: MLB 2K12 - PC Impressions
2K12 obviously has framerate issues on the consoles. Given the PC version is a port, it stands to reason that framerate issues may be present in the PC version. Nothing to do with one's rig setup in other words. FIFA on the PC for example is never optimized correctly and is renowned for having framerate issues for everyone, regardless of their PC.Comment

re: MLB 2K12 - PC Impressions
This is discouraging to hear as patches for the PC version of 2ksports titles are usually 3-4 months behind the consoles. If there is a framerate issue, then it's going to be around for a long time for us PC gamers. Whereas it appears the consoles may have received a release day patch to fix it. Bummer.
Still on the fence as to wether to get this at Best Buy or buy a digital copy.Comment

What's 2K11 got to do with possible issues in 2K12? Two different games that will have different issues. 2K11 ran fine on my PC as well BTW.Comment

re: MLB 2K12 - PC Impressions
One thing that might hurt is the newer pitching features if more calcs/analysis are being done on each at bat (where you typically get the lowest frame rate). Although running a couple arguments to finalize pitch selection and effectiveness shouldn't really drain a processor.Comment

I don't have the game yet, I was asking the OP how serious the stuttering issues he experienced actually were.Comment

Well, mine will be done in an hour or two. Thank you for perpetuating someone else's claim with the 2k11's performance on your computer. That was relevant.Comment
