Too many ground rule doubles???
I haven't had the game long so I'm asking those who have played it alot more than me. But I've played idk how many games, maybe like 5 or 6. Anyways, every game I see at least one, sometimes 2-3 ground rule doubles. That just seems too high to me. Prevents runs being scored and possible triples even. Is this occuring for everyone? Not a game killer, but it def needs to be patched somehow imoTags: None -

Not sure about the PS3 version as I haven't played it much but it does seem the ball bounces awfully high on the Vita version off high fly balls.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Re: Too many ground rule doubles???
I also feel the same thing. I think the issue only appears when the ball hits the ground very hard (like all these choppers in foul territory and a deep fly ball that comes down and hits the ground at high speed). The ground/grass should absorb a lot more energy off that type of ball since it acts as a cushion, more effective as the impact is harder. Maybe that part of true physics isn't replicated well.Comment

Re: Too many ground rule doubles???
I just had one too, but this has been my first in dozens of games I've played.
Maybe it has to do with the stadium you play in and/or the fielders speed? Cause a high pop fly in the OF will obviously bounce since it has lots of speed on it from coming down from the high distance it was hit. Or if you're playing in a stadium with a wall that's low(such as fenway), the ball will easily bounce over depending on the way you hit(hitting opposite end/late swing if you're right handed batter)Comment

Luck of the draw. I saw a thread about a guy not seeing any foul outs and i have 2-3 of those a game at least.Gamertag and PSN Name: RomanCaesarComment

Re: Too many ground rule doubles???
I've seen one ground rule double in 5 games of exhibition. Small sample size doesn't tell you enough.Comment

Re: Too many ground rule doubles???
I have seen 3 in one game once. It's like the ball bounces off a trampoline when it lands.Comment

Re: Too many ground rule doubles???
Umm, probably. I think if I turned it to auto fielding it would help uz I know for a fact I have messed up allowing a ball to drop only to see it jump over the wall. Just played about 4 innings of a game in St. Louis and had it happen. I don't think the issue is "too many" it's just that the ball bounces way too high when it hits the ground on a fly ball. The ground/grass doesn't absorb enough of the speed of the ball so it bounces too high and up over a wall. 7 games straight that I've seen at least one (and I have been normally playing about 5 innings of each and then quit).Comment

Re: Too many ground rule doubles???
The ball shouldn't bounce that high on grass, simple as that.
Dirt? Can probably hop a little lower, but that's the only way you can get a ground rule double. No ball can hit grass and go over a fence in fair territory for one of those. This game disregards that.
I wish I wasn't playing on the Vita right now so I could record video of a ground rule double I've already experienced in my game.
EDIT: Actually, I have video from when I first got of the game of a poor ground rule double example...
