The fielding in this game has frustrated me to no end

I agree with that and then when your 90 rated OF gets the same kind of fly ball or even an easy one he botches it.

Out of curiosity, did this happen in franchise mode?

I didn't read through the whole thread, but have you guys tried putting the fielding on automatic? Not only is it less frustrating, but it REALLY shows more animations. I've seen about 5 different diving catch animations.

I've seen a few of those hits that go right threw the fielders glove. The other thing I've seen is fielders not coming to a full extension on those infield hits. I currently have reaction time at a 6 but I'll bump it to a 7 soon.

For me this has been the worst the fielding has been since I began playing in 2010. I've had outfielders running away from the ball even though I directed the LS towards the ball, and all of those other things mentioned. It's extremely frustrating and I've definitely quit a few games because of it. I have played hundreds upon hundreds of games from 2010 to now and until this year I never had a big problem with fielding at all. For some reason this year it just hasn't been good at all. I've thought about turning the fielding on automatic but have yet to do so. I just deal with the issues and move on.

My only fielding gripe is that the catchers react far too quickly to pop-ups and choppers in front of the plate.

A gripe of mine is comebackers to the pitcher with men on base. Like bases loaded no outs, sharp grounder that the pitcher gobbles up. I throw home but the pitcher takes all day to throw and I barely get the force at home on what should have been a 1-2-3 double play.

the more im playing the more weird things i see, i feel this thread should be much bigger as it is.

just now i had a play where the 1st basemen was diving for a weakly hit ball, of course he missed it, while there was never any doubt for me that the 2nd basemen would have 0 problem getting to it. which he did of course, but unfortunately 1st base was uncovered and it ended up being a single. just one the weird plays that i cant imagine to see in real life any time soon.
