MLB 24 Franchise team choice?

A lot of pessimism about the game so far this year ( and much of it is warranted) but just thought I’d try and change the conversation up a bit.

So for those buying (or those still on the fence), who you got?

Almost 99% sure I’ll be running with the Mets this year. A somewhat aging over priced team that definitely needs some help. Hasn’t won since’86. Never had an MVP.

Feels like a challenge.

Always do a Fantasy Draft with my Seattle Mariners. I do a 30 team Fantasy Draft then after the draft. Whatever the other 29 teams do they do

Mets. Such a great division to play in, tough competition with Atlanta and Philly, and Miami is coming off a postseason appearance. DC hasn't done anything since '19 so at least I won't have to worry about finishing last. Bader is the kind of player I can work wonders with, I hope Manaea is going to be the same, as long as he has starter stamina. I'm shooting for 60 homers with Polar Bear Pete. I treat every one of his at-bats like a homerun derby. Good times ahead. At least till May. If I'm out of it by then, I hope Steve Cohen buys Sony and fires everyone.

Now, THIS is a nice thread to follow.

I always want to go with my hometown Guardians, but I really like rebuilds, soooo......choosing between:

Rockies
Marlins
Nationals

Outside chance of it being the Giants.

Already did Oakland and Milwaukee.

Can't choose Royals or White Sox because they're in the Guardians division, so I don't like them.

The Angels would be a great tear down and rebuild but I find them boring for some reason.

I'd go with Miami or DC, the NL East is the best division to play in for my money. Brutal going against Atlanta and Philly, but also good fun.

Not to throw this thread off center but this is why Y2Y is so important.
I am really enjoying my A’s franchise. I hate to give it up. Gameplay has never been better than it is with 23. As far as graphics, the Show is the only PS5 game I own. I guess if you don’t know what you’re missing then you don’t miss it.

Angels would be a great choice. Win one with Trout. But I have a strong dislike for the jerseys and stadium.🤮

Not to throw this thread off center but this is why Y2Y is so important.

No need to give up on that A’s franchise. If you are truly loving it why not stick with it?

I’m hoping to fall in love with my franchise this year. Maybe then I wouldn’t feel the need to purchase every year.

Have been a Dodger fan since the Garvey, Cey and Sax days, yes I'm older..lol

So playing with anybody other than the Dodgers is a no-no for me, I get the appeal of rebuilds, but I can find it just as difficult keeping a team on top as well.

The 2 teams I will ALWAYS use in the only 2 sports games I play is the Steelers, and the Dodgers...otherwise I feel like I'm "cheating" on my teams...lol

Yeah, that's part of the fun challenge, playing in a tough division. Totally agree. But also using the Rockies and trying to compete with the Dodgers and Diamondbacks too.

Exactly why the won't use the Angels. Overall boring uniform choices and stadium.
