    2025 Houston Astros 06/24-06/26

Overall Record: 40-41 (3rd AL West/8.0 behind Texas Rangers)

    Game Results:

    Game 1
    Astros-2
    Phillies-1

    Game 2
    Astros-8
    Phillies-4

    Game 3
    Phillies-10
    Astros-7

The Streak ends with Astros first series win of June

Of Course, the Astros got their first June series victory against the NL East first place Philadelphia Phillies. After the Astros lost series versus the Chicago White Sox, Athletics and Angles, they got their first series win in June versus the Philadelphia Phillies.

Houston got the series win with wins in the first two games, 2-1 and 8-4. They had chances to make it a sweep but ultimately fell short in game three with the 10-7 loss. Each time the Astros took the lead in game 3, the Phillies retook the lead in their very next inning at-bat to the eventual 10-7 win. The Astros were able to break their series win-less streak but were not able to break Trea Turner's hit streak. His lone hit in game three brought his steak to 23.

The Astros will now finish June and hope to get their second straight series victory as they welcome the Cubs to town (45-37/1st NL Central)

Cardinals finish Spring with 13-12 record, look forward to Opening Day
The Cardinals have finished up Spring Training with a 13-12 record under first year manager AJ Hinch. The Cardinals played well during the Spring, especially the pitching staff that they will carry into Opening Day. Newcomers Jordan Montgomery, Griffith Canning, and Dustin May all pitched extremely well this Spring as starters and Chad Green and Luke Weaver were lights out in the bullpen.

Offensively the Cardinals still have a concern with depth but feel strongly about the everyday 9. Some shakeup in the lineup proved to be beneficial to the offense and Victor Scott really played well earning the starting CF position. The one concern continues to be Lars Nootbaar who had a horrible 2025 season and his spring wasn't much better, but he got hot at the end going 5 for his last 13 with 3 doubles.

The Cardinals Opening Day roster will be:

      ROTATION:

      RHP Sonny Gray
      LHP Jordan Montgomery
      RHP Griffin Canning
      LHP Matthew Liberatore
      RHP Dustin May

      BULLPEN:

      LHP Sam Hentegas
      LHP Jojo Romero
      RHP Chad Green
      RHP Luke Weaver
      RHP Ryan Fernandez
      RHP Kyle Leahy
      RHP Jordan Hicks

      CLOSER:

      RHP Ryan Helsley

      LINEUP:

      2B Brendan Donovan
      SS Masyn Winn
      3B Nolan Arenado
      DH Alec Burleson
      C Willson Contreras
      1B Nolan Gorman
      RF Jordan Walker
      LF Lars Nootbaar
      CF Victor Scott II

      BENCH:

      C Ivan Herrera
      IF/OF Michael Helman
      IF Raynaldo Delgado
      OF Zach Levenson

The Cardinals will begin the season with a 2 game series in Japan versus the Rockies. After that, they return to the States for a true Opening Day 4 game series in San Francisco with the Giants.

The AJ Hinch era is ready to begin the Cardinals are looking to return to the playoffs for the first time in 3 seasons.

Just started my custom fantasy franchise and of course this game just keeps sucking the life out of me. Teams in the western division are playing 7pm EST games that start at 4pm, and eastern division teams are playing 9pm EST games which are starting in complete darkness. I mean, you can't make this **** up how broken this game is this year.

The AJ Hinch era begins with a 2 game series sweep to Rockies across the pond
The Cardinals (0-2) begin the 2026 season much like how the 2025 season went, with a series loss. The Cardinals dropped both games of a 2 game series against the Rockies in Japan. The Cardinals offense didn't show up and Sonny Gray and Jordan Hicks didn't make the trip either apparently.

The Cardinals lost the season opener 6-2 as Sonny Gray who started out with 5 strikeouts thru 3 innings, would give up 6 runs on 6 hits (3 homeruns) in the Top of the 4th and get chased from the game. The only silver lining was that the bullpen combination of Kyle Leahy, Sam Hentges, and Ryan Fernandez combined to pitch 6 innings only giving up one hit.

Offensively the Cardinals never got things going until the 8th inning when Nolan Arenado drove in a run followed by Michael Helman who replaced Masyn Winn in the 5th who left with a turned ankle.

On Wednesday Jordan Montgomery made his first start in 2 years as he was solid but errors by the defense (4 of them) would eventually lead to the Rockies scoring 2 runs off of Montgomery and chasing him from the game in the 6th. The Cardinals then watched Jordan Hicks give up 3 runs in the 7th that put the Rockies up 5-0 which would be the final score. The offense was non existent in game 2 as the Cardinals managed just 3 hits. That's right the Cardinals had more errors than hits on the day.

The Cardinals will return to the States for a 4 game Opening Week series with the Giants in San Francisco.

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

If I never see the Diamondbacks ever again on this game Iโ€™ll be happy lol. Four straight one run losses to them, two of them were walk offs. One of them I had a big lead. Fifth game against them they killed me 10-3. Final game of second series I had a 7-1 lead, by the 7th it was 7-6. I was like here we go again. But finally I held on for 7-6 win.

Mets record stands at 21-17 in first ahead of the Phillies by 1.5 games. NL East standings look eerily similar to real life.

Cardinals split series with Giants in San Francisco
The Cardinals (2-4) split their 4 game series with the Giants over the weekend as the official Opening Day/Week games took place.

The Cardinals got great starts in both of their wins with Griffin Canning and Dustin May each tossing 7 innings of work, but only Dustin May would get a win as Canning got a no decision as the offense struggled in his start. In the other two games both Matthew Liberatore and Sonny Gray (for the 2nd time) were absolutely rocked on the mound and both were chased after just 4 innings. Sonny Gray, the Cards ace, has started two games and tossed a total of 8 innings and has a plus 12 ERA at the moment.

Offensively the Cardinals struggled to get key hits in key moments, but did enough in both wins to put runs on the board. Alec Burleson, Nolan Arenado, and Willson Contreras each had a great series. In Saturday's game it was Jordan Walker's massive 456ft 2 run blast in the 7th that put the Cardinals ahead and secured the win. Ryan Helsley earned 2 saves while Jordan Hicks again was dominated by the bats when on the mound.

The Cardinals will remain out west as they travel to Los Angeles for a 3 game series with the Angels to begin the week.

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Texas Rangers MOM season 2 update

The Texas Rangers are currently 43 and 33 and 2 and half games ahead of the Mariners in the AL West. After a blistering start Seagar hes cooled off. He's currently on his 2nd stint on the IL. He still has 21 hrs and is leading the MVP vote. Jake Burger has been the man lately. He is 2nd in the league in rbis and has 18 hrs. Cedric Mullins has been great, although he to is on the IL. Kyle Tucker hasn't had the impact I was expecting as he is hitting right at 245. Pitching wise I am pleased with Bradford, Manning and Scotty Mcalpin. Zac Jackson has 20 saves. As we approach July I'll be looking for MR pitching and maybe another starter

Well, unfortunately, with the transfer to the new forums, my Detroit Tiger's franchise is dead. I lost all my box scores, which were google sheets embedded into pages on the "Dynasty" section of the old forum, which didn't transfer over. And the blog posts that did transfer over, it seems no longer support HTML. Thus, I will no longer be posting updates here.

                    2025 Houston Astros 06/27-06/29

Overall Record:43-41 (2nd AL West/7.0 behind Texas Rangers)

                    Game Results:

                    Game 1
                    Astros-11
                    Cubs-7

                    Game 2
                    Astros-7
                    Cubs-3

                    Game 3
                    Astros-1
                    Cubs-0

Astros take charge in Tuckers return

Finally! The Houston Astros swept Kyle Tucker's new team 3-0 with final scores of 11-7, 7-3, and 1-0 as Kyle Tucker made his return to Houston after being traded to Chicago in the offseason.

Tucker was good in his return (5-13/1 HR/1 RBI) but the Astros got the better of the NL Central leading Chicago Cubs in their three game series to end the month of June.

And of course they would. The Astros face two first place teams, the Philadelphia Phillies and the the Chicago Cubs in their last two series after a tough start to June.

Through those final two series, Houston went 5-1 but still finished the month 11-15 which currently has them at 43-41 on the year which is good for second in the West division and 4th in the AL wildcard (1.0 behind the Rays).

The Astros will now have a day off before they travel to Colorado for three versus the Rockies (29-55/5th NL West).
