MLB The Show 25 Franchise Discussion

Before I get serious with a MLBTS25 Mets franchise, I'm going to see what I can do with the Colorado Rockies. Going to be a huge uphill climb up that NL West mountain, contending with LA, San Diego and Arizona. May as well also throw San Fran into the mix too as a formidable Rockie foe. Even a wild card may be too huge a hurdle to clear right away. The NL West may well be more difficult to navigate than my Mets own NL East.

At the very least, I will do everything in my power to derail an LA repeat. They do have the money. But I have the method. And the method is madness. I'm going to unleash something on major league baseball ain't nobody ever seen. I plan on winning in Denver with pitching. I'm not worried about acquiring or even keeping talent in everyday position players. The real unsung hero that will be my hitting superstud is a little secret weapon that I like to call Coors Field. Does your granpa want to be a Rockie batting legend? Because I can take him (or anyone else) and make him an all-star at Coors.
So it is pitching that must be the focus of bringing the first World Series championship to Colorado.

Stay tuned, we are mere days away from MLBTS25 Spring Training.

Re: MLB The SHOW 25 Franchise Discussion Thread.

I do 30 team control. Control everything day to day for all teams except scouting. That being said, I haven’t played even 1 single inning with any team besides my Minnesota Twins since 2018. It’s starting to get stale and I really don’t find any joy in playing against the White Sox 15 times per year.

Was thinking Nationals or Pirates. Going to go Pirates because their division is much less scary. Plus their ball park is fantastic. Excited to use Skenes. Will limit his innings and eventually trade him tho. Pirates will never pay him. Looking forward to struggling with the bats. Getting Bubba Chandler up to the majors with Skenes, Jones, and Keller. See if Henry Davis can figure it out. And trying to gut out a wild card.

I'd have to choose Pirates over Washington also. What a beautiful cathedral PNC, and a huge bonus having a young Skenes. As a Mets fan, I definitely approve staying away from trying to compete with a Mets/Braves/Phillies triumvirate. I could never play in the same division against the Mets but if I were forced to, I would have to go with the Marlins. That's why I wish we could have custom divisions. How cool would it be to run a Minnesota franchise in a division with Detroit Cleveland Milwaukee and the Cubs to replace the hapless Pale Hose.

From a clevelander viewpoint, the ideal division would be:

        Cleveland
        Pittsburgh
        Cincinnati
        Detroit
        Chicago

          St. Louis
          Other Chicago

Adjusting divisions would be a friggin' gift.

Would love to make it geographically relevant, instead of splitting the NY's, O's/Nats, Florida's, California, etc. (Yes, I understand why it's not, but c'mon).

Would be all kinds of screwy for mid/North West, but having those rivalries all of the time instead of once a year would be tight.

As a Canadian, give me the expansion or relocated Expos so that the Toronto/Montreal rivalry can happen all year!

Yeah it's an MLB problem in my book. Having some teams so close to each other in proximity and not fighting it out in the same division is ridiculous.

I wonder if this is why it's so tough for Seattle to win it all, being so secluded from the rest of baseball. What the M's need is a Portland and Vancouver franchise rivalry to get them over the hump.

Ohhhh yeah. It's wild in Seattle when Toronto invades from Vancouver. Gotta think a Vancouver/Seattle rivalry would be a ton of fun.

So who's starting his serious save tomorrow?

I really can't wait, the office day tomorrow will be the worst. I miss my working from home days in times like these.

I vote marlins. Better stadium and uniforms options.

All depends on how much fun DD is. And how servers are. Probably starting in DD to feel out the gameplay, but my Nats franchise spreadsheet is all set up and ready to go. It's gonna be hard waiting.

*also if for some reason they hold roki back I'll have to wait. I can make do without any other intl guys that might not be in the game.

Spring training for the Colorado Rockies starts tomorrow night but my serious business Mets franchise I'll start mid April. So at some point I'll have two franchises running concurrently.

Fantasy draft Cleveland Guardians franchise starts tomorrow at 6 or 7 am ish.

30 team control fantasy draft. I'll make picks for every team for the first 5 rounds, then after that I'll sim the rest of the fantasy draft.

For the other teams, my goal is to keep their top 5 players on their teams as they are currently. (Mets will pick Soto, LA picks Ohtani....etc), then after those 5 rounds, it'll be randomized.

                              LFG!!!!
