Maybe? I don't know what he meant exactly but teams are able to go to 4 man rotations because of the extra off days.

eh... what?

With all the days off in the playoffs, the pitchers should have more energy, not less. Even with the four day rotation, there are often 5 or 6 days between starts.

Exactly what I'm saying. It doesn't happen often but I can even remember times recently when teams got by with a 3 man rotation in the postseason. If this was a design decision it was a poor one.

09 Yankees used a 3 man rotation. They tightened the off days up after that.
