Post Your MLB The Show 19 Gameplay Interview Questions Here

We'll be getting some hands-on with the game very soon and we're asking the community to submit any "GAMEPLAY RELATED QUESTIONS" here. We probably won't be able to get them all answered, but I'll try to get another setup in the near future.

With that said, fire away. Again... "GAMEPLAY RELATED QUESTIONS ONLY".

If there is a question that you "LIKE", be sure to like it, so we can try to get those questions asked first, before running out of time.

Steve,

I think we would all like to know what determines, or what algorithm (if you will) determines the difference of effectiveness from a guys #1 pitch to say his number #3 pitch? And what exactly will that differential gap be?

Also if you could squeeze in how they separated effectiveness from relievers who sometimes have maybe 2 to 3 pitches as oppose to a starter who can sometimes have up to 4 to 5 pitches in their arsenal?

What changes have been made to the way the game plays in the postseason? There seems to be little urgency to remove pitchers in game like we’ve seen in real life wild card and other elimination games.

Have more sliders been added to help further emulate a real baseball experience?

Has batting stance editor been changed at all?

Re: Post Your MLB The Show 19 Gameplay Interview Questions Here

When playing defense on Manual control, do you have total control of the fielder (especially in the infield)? Can you feel the momentum of the player reacting to the ball...can you feel his feet moving and can you feel the force of your throw?

Or do the animations take over and you're just pushing a button to throw to a base?

Thanks.

Re: Post Your MLB The Show 19 Gameplay Interview Questions Here

Probably my biggest question deals with the existing pitch confidence system. How will it work with regard to the new "lowered effectiveness" effect of throwing the same secondary pitches repeatedly?

It seems that it will still be possible to make contact (usually foul off) pitches that are outside the PCI, based on one of the preview videos. Is this effect tied to the plate vision attribute, and will it have less of an effect at the higher difficulties (i.e. you won't get away with misplacing the PCI as much on Legend as opposed to Veteran).

Any new sliders?

Thanks!

Are hitters consistently getting xbh regardless of whether they are power or contact hitter?

Re: Post Your MLB The Show 19 Gameplay Interview Questions Here

1 - Will the hr/9 rating have an impact this year?

2- Balls down the foul lines curve foul more than in the past. Will this remain the same?
