Not an issue. SDS designed it that way, they’ve said so in the past. If he gets hit anywhere other than torso or head, then I think he can come out. And even then, I think it’s only in franchise.

Its an issue in the rate that it happens along with many times it ends up being an out after the pitcher was just blasted and the ball bounces off him with VELOCITY. No doubt it's been designed that way, but it simply does not replicate real life.

First thing I noticed while going through rosters/equipment is that Oakley is no longer in the game. Extremely disappointing. CAP’s look great. The batting stance creator is really fun to play around with as well. Really looking foward to the gameplay. I would personally buy the game every year even if it were only a roster update though, so my judgement may be biased.

Bunts are brutal. Unless I’m doing something wrong, bunts are flying off the bat. Is there a way to deaden a bunt? I’ve seen CPU rocket bunts as well so I don’t think I’m doing something wrong.

Been playing 17 since release up until this afternoon.

That said, up to 4 innings now on the installation game and I really enjoy it.

The updated uniforms look great as well as the amazing new hair textures on the face/head.

Also the new animations, and keep in mind this is after 4 innings, are so much smoother and fluid. They look natural and I keep waiting for some canned animation but nope.

Can't wait to play more and check out the new uniforms and stadiums.

Definitely a good buy for me at least. I'm already sold.

What do you honestly expect to change? Just curious. The stream showed no new features were added besides phases, and a UI overhaul.

Mannerisms are wayyy better this year, players react to things more appropriately and the color and frame rate is amazing, gameplay is good as always, one of the best looking Shows I've ever seen

My first impression is that I'm very frustrated right now.

Trying to load my save file from '17 and I keep getting an error that reads:

"This save file was not advanced at least one calendar year in the previous year's release"

I played primarily on '16, then at the end of the offseason uploaded to '17 and waited to upload to '18.

Why am I not allowed to upload????

If I lost my franchise due to this, I'm not going to be a very happy camper. I had to start over in '16 due to a mistake I made. I don't want to start over again.

Anyone have any advice?

Well it appears my carryover franchise save is dead. I have a save file from the end of the season prior to the start of the offseason in '16 that I could upload into '17 and then do the offseason in '17 and see once I go into January if it will allow me to upload into '18. But doing that means I lose the offseason that I had, all the tuning and adjustments I did to add in missing players and such, and getting rosters set for Spring Training in '18.

I didn't expect this to be an issue. I thought that I would pick up '18, upload the save file from '17 to '18 and then dive right into Spring Training. I am beyond frustrated and on a night that I planned to be up basically all night playing '18, I'm shutting the game down and taking a break for a few hours. I really don't want to start over again and having to go back and add all the minor leaguers and prospects that I had in the game. I also don't want to wait for an updated roster file, because the rosters available now are missing several free agent signings.

I am completely bummed out right now. So excited that I got the game this evening as I wasn't expecting it until the mail came tomorrow, but now I'm sitting here not playing due to this happening.

Not exactly. One difference is they removed season mode, so you're screwed if you want to continue your save file from previous years.

There's that. Had to make room for retro mode in franchise, I guess.
