Re: Patch 1.09 is Live
Oddly at default settings I had a lot of bloop singles to the outfield where the outfielder would get the ball in so fast (or runner logic was so bad) that they'd get the force out for the player running to second.Comment

Re: Patch 1.09 is Live
There are more fielding bugs now after today's patch. Still a ton of unfixed bugs that should have been hammered out by now. I've reported them all to SCEA through their bug report form and nothing changed. Here's what I (still) see after 1.09:
- fielders inexplicably whiffing on simple grounders
- when the screen pops up that shows runners or a shift, the runners' jersey numbers are actually the fielders'.
- on line drives with manual fielding on it's still impossible to make a jumping catch. Guys are just frozen.
- Felipe Vazquez is still Felipe Rivero. C'mon it's been almost 6 weeks since he officially switched.
- Pitchers still getting hit with comeback liners waaaaaay too often. I played five games after 1.09 and it happened at least once a game.
I'm sure I'll find more. I'm not gonna keep reporting them to SCEA if nothing changes. It sucks because I've been a fan of this game since the 989 days.

Re: Patch 1.09 is Live
I think it might be an auto fielding issue. I use manual and I'm about 40 games into my franchise and when I get a grounder to first I just direct the 1B over to the bag with the L stick. No issues so far.
Speaking of fielding this year's game really emphasizes individual fielding abilities like no other has before. The difference between Mookie Betts and JD Martinez in RF is really noticeable and just feels right.
(Whoops, Triple Crown's post just came in while I was typing the original version of this one. I don't know what to say other than I'm still on 1.06 and play on veteran)Comment

Re: Patch 1.09 is Live
I see it probably every 5 games or so. But I'll get a ground ball to my first baseman, I'll press o to run and step on the bag, but my fielder will just stay locked in this jogging animation and run in a straight line past the bag until the play is over. I got lucky once and the base runner conveniently ran into me as I ran across the foul line and got the tag out. They field the ball fine, it's just the transition into tagging the base where the issue occurs.
I'm wondering if it's just a problem with auto fielding instead of manual? But then I use manual throwing, so I don't know.
Best thing to do is manually take over the first baseman after he fields the ball and run to first yourself. It will then kick into the stepping on the bag animation.
Works every single time. I stopped pressing the "o" button to have him run to first a long time ago and simply take over the fielder myself. Now Playing on PS5:

It happens to me once in a blue moon. Auto Fielding/manual throwing guy as well.

Anyone notice any uniform tweaks? Still kind of holding on to hope that they give the Phillies the "bright red" treatment.#LFC

Which is sort of strange to me, since you would think that they would want to appease the MLBPA and the athletes by representing their likeness properly within their game.Comment
