AI Bullpen usage logic is the worst

I was just thinking that on a harder difficulty relievers would deserve to be pitching longer and not just be in there because of bad a.i. But really it probably just opens up another can of worms worse than the original problem :shrug:

so after trying this set up listed for a while i was still running into issues in games that werent close..Lrp1# seems to always come in first choice no matter what score is (this happens before the 8th inning in games cpu is winning or losing) so i decided to have all LRP slots empty..just go for 7 man BP using both set up slots(SU1# for true set up guy and SU#2 for a lefty specialist) who seems to get a occasional nod vs. a lefty batter prior to 8th inning. and then ordering the Mrp slots with slot #1 and #2 using the remaining best pitchers.and slot #3 uses the "long reliever" and slot #4 with worst Rp. so wanted to see what happens and what desicions are made. im getting decent results
so far but need more games. to see what patterns are still happening.

Sounds reasonable. So who are they using first before the 8th in this setup, the first MR? If so that makes sense to put the best non setup guy in the first MR spot. Do you see them using the setup guys in the 8th and 9th?

ive hated the BP logic for years so i try anything i can over time..so im gonna be keeping track/notes in my physically played games who comes in, when and the score so i can test this out.. im not sure if the "true" long reliever should be in slot 3 or 4 honestly..as far as setup guys have gone the cpu so far still only uses set up #1 in winning situations in 8th however ive seen a left hp in setup#2 has been used in earlier innings for matchups more than once..and i think this is happening only cuz they happen to be the only Lhp out of the pen on these rosters.(i play mngr hook 5 untill SP comes out and then hook goes to 8)im trying to peak at box scores from cpu vs. cpu games to see what pitchers are used there as well to see what slots they are in. on a side note i was thrilled to see the cpu put in the closer in a tie game in the 9th inning of my NYY/Sea game the other night. pleasent surprise.
