Re: Shortened MLB schedule

This is a good reason to readd shortened seasons back to the game for next year and season mode too.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it doesn't seem like it would take a lot of work to patch in the 60-game schedule as an option in addition to the original 162-game schedule. Would be great because it would provide different Interleague opponents than the original 2020 schedule and the 60 games would be manageable to complete.

Some things that would also have to change besides number of games:

* Minor league schedules/seasons would have to be altered as well

* Phases would have to be re-done to account for shorter season as well as when those things take place (draft, roster expansion, playoff eligibility cutoff, etc...)

* Game would have to account for returning to "normal" for the next season and change the phases and other changes back to "normal"

* Salaries would have to be re-calculated since they now use weekly budgeting

Keep the 162 game schedule, but have the 60 game schedule as an option.

Re: Shortened MLB schedule

Any stats from 2020 should not count ever. Should be just a “unique” year

Look at the standings after 60 games last year.

This favours bad teams, Seattle had a what 17-2 start ?? Yankees 5-9?? Mats 18-31

Astricks and tainted 2020 season.

bad take. there will be debate about legitimacy of WS champ but saying no stats should count makes zero sense

so you are saying that if someone gets a average of 400 in 60 games. that will be known as a record season to have a average of 400 because it was in 60 games not 162??

Or a pitcher with a ERA of 0.54 because in 10 starts rather then 28 he now pitched the greatest season of all time ?

this is why they shouldn't count.

I think the entire conversation is moot, because I don't believe that this season will be able to be played to completion. The virus will win, aided by thousands of people who just don't care.
