MLB The Show 22 - (PS5/Xbox Series X|S) Impressions

Just played one game on PS5 so far and man, this game is just solid! The new commentary is just incredible and is a breath of fresh air. There are new bat sounds which was cool to hear. Also, the poo that the catchers mitt has when a pitch comes in is different for types of pitches. A fastball will give a nice loud pop whereas a curveball or offspeed pitch will sound a bit more dull. Thought that was a really neat touch. Also, the wind was blowing in at Comerica and I hit a ball deep and to the wall which was caught, and Boog mentioned how that ball would've gone out had it not been for the wind blowing in. That was really awesome to hear. Gonna turn in and play a ton tomorrow! Happy gaming fellas!

If you're using the fielding indicator called Track Ball, then you can't. If you're using the drifting Ball indicator, then you still can.

First thing I look at every year is the equipment! There were a few things that made me happy to see like 100%, ASICS, Warstick, and Chandler! But only 10 pairs of cleats, including only one pair of New Balance, one pair of Adidas, and the older Trout’s not the new Trout 7’s! And on top of that after years and years of trying to get Nike catcher’s equipment in the game they were suddenly pulled from ‘22 for some reason! Please tell me SDS that there’s an “Day One” patch/update coming to add more equipment! If you need an extra slot then get rid of the Evo Shield catchers equipment as I’ve never seen one MLB catcher where Evo Shield or Easton for that matter. Please it would be nice to see a couple more cleat options from New Balance and Adidas. I thought the cleat section from last year was pretty close to perfect for options! Also think there might have been another Jordan option last year also. Not sure why every year you surprise us with withdrawals! I appreciate the additions this year but meanwhile you have Rawlings,Sam Bat, Hickory, Dinger, and Axe batting gloves that take up space in the game but no player wears them! Maybe take those out and put in more cleat options, more Oakley options, and Nike catcher’s gear back in! Ok, I’m done with my rant. I just get frustrated when things we’ve been waiting for like Oakley and Nike catchers gear get added to then a year later they get left out! Please, if you can put them back in it would be greatly appreciated from a buying customer! Thank you so much for your hard work!

Yea they had new jordan cleats and all this stuff in promotional materials and their dd video last week. Have to believe its a glitch of some sort

Can’t second the equipment request enough. Not having Nike catcher gear is such a let down.

Many of the CAP faces, in my opinion, are awful. Maybe the next roster update will fix that, but not holding my breath. I’ll fix them myself starting tomorrow.

The promo videos showed Nike gear, there has to be a patch or maybe the paperwork for the license is stuck in the mail?
