Definitely an odd decision to still have pc be last gen on a year that cross play is being introduced seems like the perfect time.to upgrade. But jf the leak.is true this terrible news.

I was never planning on upgrading even if it was, just because (1) I’ve spent most of my time modding 2K23 and want to spend time this coming year actually playing / enjoying the game, and (2) the first new-gen year on PC will probably be a down year for modding as tool creators learn how to work with the new system (and new- & old-gen are close enough that modded old-gen > vanilla new-gen).

In a short term sense it’s actually better that 2K24 is old-gen because that means many mods for it will likely be usable on 2K23, but long-term it’s concerning every year that they delay. Just making us wait longer for the eventual modded new-gen experience (hopefully we’ll get new-gen for 2K25 and have mods fully up to speed by 2K26… I guess it’s 2K23 for me till then).

We should have a next gen version when the old consolle will be totally out of the market. At that point they don't call next/old gen anymore if inly one NBA2K version will planned.

This year (again) I'm guessing what we are going to lose in term of new gameplay feature, IA, etc. IMHO is not only graphics comparison.

That ProPlay feature was mentioned only for PS5/SeriesX and if its confirmed this could be the major lack to complain.

i'm disappointed, but i'm not trippin' either. ea will get my $ for next-gen madden in addition to other great upcoming games on pc like forza mp, cities skylines 2, starfield, plus a backlog of games that i have lined up including elden ring.


i do wonder what their excuse will be this time though.

Yeah.. at this point, I'm pretty much set that i will never buy another 2k game on console. Ill tough it out and hang in there with the modding community. 2k lack of detail, i just cant deal with it anymore.

It really is hard to go back to console after you have been introduced to the modding world, looking at the scan that was released for Wembanyama recently by 2k was laughable compared to the pc version I had from months ago.

I do wonder if they will.at least include the Kobe challenge mode like they did with the Jordan challenge mode for pc like last year. Sucks that pc won't get the eras mode though that's what I really wanted to be able to play on pc.

The eras mode is the only selling point for me for the next-gen 2Ks, but I'm hopeful modding tools will come out to allow us to basically do that; give me the ability to change the year and change number of games in the playoffs, and I can do an eras mode on my own with a little work.



The modding community is such a huge plus for PC that going back to console just isn't worth it -- especially with the freedom you give up to correct the (many) things wrong with 2Ks default rosters and historic/generated draft classes.

Not a PC gamer myself, but maybe some 2K executive got upset with a "PC master race" comment at some point in the past, and has been on revenge mode ever since...

Lol they don't want to put the next gen edition on PC because it will require higher specs PC's so they will lose sales because most people don't have a high spec PC that can run the next gen edition of the game .... these decisions are always about money.
