Maybe they have implemented accumulated fatigue and a historic rotation feature. The more we play the more subs we see. Around Christmas the subs will be perfect.
On a serious note now, I also had games where cpu subs worked somehow but in the majority of them don't work at all unless you do the choose sides workaround.

They've already said they'll fix it. They don't despise offline players, there are offline modes with deeper features than any other sports videogames and this year the gameplay has improved hugely. I also don't play online at all, I've never spent a penny in microtransactions. Even if they come now and tell me here's 10 million VC for £1 I won't spend it. I've played every single basketball videogame since Fast Break and Lakers Vs Celtics. This one is the best gameplay wise alongside 2k11 and the pc version of 2k14.

i tried in the modern era. AI used a 9 man rotation only D. Murray played over 40 minutes for the AI but Zion didnt play the entire second half. no foul trouble. healthy. so kind of worked but still not good enough

LOL yo the game really does play well but 2K needs to send an emergency patch. Sim heads would never want to see players averaging 50 mins a game.

I feel everyone’s frustration.
