Superstars are too OP in 2K25

Anyone find that when playing the CPU that their star players are too OP and take way too many shots while their “role-players” rarely take any?

The default 2K rosters is catering to the casual players as they only watch highlights of their favorite superstars put up big numbers on highlight reels.

I’m trying to edit the roster to get the roleplayers more involved scoring wise but I can’t seem to change that the superstars are too OP. Is it hardcoded?

Remove all the Badges on All Players. Then start making edits to Player Tendencies.

Will try this, I’ve only edited Touches tendency and it did not affect anything. I even tests Kyrie and Luka’s touches tendencies to single digits while raising Washington’s to 60 and plays are still run through Kyrie and Luka as they put up tons of shots

I don't have 2k25 but did you try the coach profiles? Knowing 2k it's probably on "Play Through Stars". Change it to Neutral and it should work better (if they didn't change the coding)

I’m testing vigorously against the Dallas Mavericks and their Coach Profile is already set to Neutral. Editing the Touches tendencies didn’t do anything so hopefully removing all the badges will solve it when I try it.

Check play discipline and dish to open man. Or you could lower their iso tendencies

Have you tried adjusting your defense to focus on the player that's eating you up?
Try sending doubles and shading off.
Not saying you're wrong but have you tried everything that a real coach would try if one player on the other team was taking all the shots?

Will be testing out these tendencies and see if it actually makes a difference

Now it’s a bigger problem if it is indeed hardcoded and that lowering tendencies and touches for these Superstars don’t make a difference in gameplay…

As they should be. They should be OP. I played a few games, i didn't think they were taking too many shots to be honest. Deny them the ball, double them, trap them, CPU playing through one guy all the time usually helps you figure them out actually.

It’s the role players shot making. If every player didn’t make every open 3 it wouldn’t be that bad. Also the star players are a little too good at passing the ball.

You can’t help off of anyone because it’s an instant cross court pass three ball.

It’s good that you can see the difference between Paul George and Oubre though. Back in the day if you were tall, could dunk and make a three you were unguardable. Atl least now the ball handling and shot moves matter

Playing against the Mavs in my game, Luka and Kyrie just takes all the shots and never look to pass. IRL, these guys would try to get their teammates involved but not in 2K25.

They’re both putting up 30+ shots in 2K but irl Luka averaged 23.6 attempts while Kyrie averaged 19.5 attempts.

Man I’m just gonna give my 2 cents:

The game just came out, and its legit a new game this year. Gameplay has changed a lot for the better, it’s way more realistic now and it feels.

It’s barely been a week. Give it a month. You will get better at the game, specially on defense.

From my experience, if you guard them well enough, they will pass the ball. But that’s not easy, and it shouldn’t be. These are the best basketball players in the world and for the first time in ages the gameplay and the AI feels like it can replicate it.

I feel like in past 2ks if I really put my mind to it I could shut down any player on defense. This year it doesn’t feel like it’s possible and it’s a good thing.

Real life nba players often say you can’t stop superstars, you can just wish to slow them down.
                          That’s how I’m approaching it.

As I get better on defense I’m seeing the results.
But I’m just so glad that this games AI is better at “feeling” realistic and challenging.

But it’s not realistic if you see PJ Washington in 2K attempt 2 shots off of offensive rebounds all game. And if I do want to make Luka and Kyrie attempt less shots, it should be possible with roster edits but it seems that no matter what I change tendency wise, they’re always looking to score no matter what.

It's good to see star players playing like star players but the excessive numbers they put now are connected to the fatigue and rotation issue. I played a WNBA game last night and the lady from NY team dropped 35pts on me in the 1st half. Right now and until the issue gets fixed it's like NBA Jam.
