So This Is The NBA 2K16 Transition Defense At Its Finest

Haha I'm sorry but this is just pathetic. Come on 2K you're better than this. I like this game and I REALLY want to love it but man it's things like this that make me just want to stop playing until the patch drops.

How is this even possible? Ok I throw a terrible alley-oop and deservedly miss and now everyone is running back on defense. We have Carmelo, Rudy Gobert, and Roy Hibbert vs Kyrie Irving.

Notice how after the alley oop misses Carmelo actually has a head start on Kyrie on getting back. Now this is the part that gets me heated.

What is Carmelo DOING? Why are all three of my defenders converging into the middle lane? Why does he completely ignore Kyrie Irving and run into the middle with Gobert and Hibbert? Does he have something he wants to tell them? Where is the logic in that?

Literally if I hadn't gone to manually control Carmelo he would have just completely ignored Kyrie Irving and he would have had an open 3, not that it would have mattered since he made the contested 3 anyway.

Has 2K even addressed this? This is literally ruining the game online because all anyone does is fastbreak and inbound the ball at half court.

Haha trust me I have worse. This was just so blatant I couldn't let it slip without showing everyone.

I could make a 30 minute montage of clips showing how bad the transition D is on this game.

I agree. This is the number one online gameplay issue that needs to be addressed.

This is THE cheese that people are exploiting this year.

i was going to have my next defensive thread be about transition defense, but if we can get a bunch of clips compiled here, that would be great.

Don't play my team? That would be my suggestion. That god awful court was horrendous.

Agree, as stated in many other threads....this is definitely an issue and should be addressed with patch #2

Until then I gotta get my *** back on D for everyone else

So I know you controlled Carmelo, but the first thing about transition D is taking away the easy lane to the hoop. Which they were doing, you claim if you didn't take over Melo he would have never stepped to Kyrie. Personally I would like to see proof of the guys near ball not guarding it. Only because I have never seen it (I don't play online, not trying to start an argument, I just want to see it).

Because you forced a terrible 3 point shot on a break taking over Melo (which that shot is contested and kyrie draining is a bigger issue to me), which is great transition defense. As for what Melo is doing, looks like he's crossing the court finding his man, who was on the other side of the floor. Melo should be staying with that man and making sure the break is stopped before finding his man. So I see the problem, of Melo leaving. I just want to see guys who aren't user'd not try and stop ball.

Those gifs aren't really a great example of the issue....a lot of it is you taking your players out of position....

one thing thats always been an issue is the defensive awareness of the initial and help defender in the open-court and on the inbound.

Thats why so many 40ft passes are successful.

1st. gif : Bev should have aggressively followed, and hustled to catch up to Kyrie. Wings showed no awareness and were denying not sure if that was a defensive setting.

2nd: Bev inexplicably jumps out of the way of the ball-handler. Zone? even then, thats weird.

3rd: 3-2 zone. bit of a rifle pass, but **** happens.

4th: looks like more zone, you tried to wall off the paint as Horford, but the closest defender moves out of the way again.

5th: You were moving people out of the way, got the block. He got the jumper out of the fray.

A number of issues here, not sure they are all transition defense specifically because i dont know what defense you were playing.

Was in man defense in the 1st half, went to half court press, then 3-2 zone, then back to man.

It's even worse in Play Now. At least in My Team you have lockdown defenders on your team to back you up.
