Do you agree with the defensive animation that interrupts the hip ride or is it irrelevant at this point? Irrelevant because any counter will do at this point lol

Seems to me like timing the RS+turbo just right plus the direction you are holding the LS relative to the offensive player triggers different defensive animations; I've gotten everything from forced pick ups to that running push off animation that looks like it should be foul but is never called.I would still recommend also using the triangle button to contest fadeaway/ step back shots just to be sure.

The only other thing to watch for is that you can get yourself out of position pretty easily if you jam on the sticks too much. For a less aggressive version, you can also do L2+RS toward the offensive player without turbo.The key to either version is beating the offensive player to the spot first.

Don't even have to use turbo every time. The right stick and L stick can trigger this also.

I don't have any video proof, but I can say this really does help. It helps stop those turbo blow-bys. I still tend to actually jump to contest the jumpshot, but this helps me stay in good position and stop them from slipping around me.
