MyLeague file corrupted, cannot load

Got this error message & can't load up MyLeague. Opened a support ticket, nothing yet. Googling the error comes up with mainly info about MyCareer, but even then, not many have a true, consistent solution.

I am using this on the PC (Steam), but the issue seems to be across all versions of the game. I posted in the PC sub and here, since this generates more traffic.

Any ideas?

Hopefully you weren't too far along as I've never seen a corrupted file get fixed. The same thing happened to one of my files after upgrading to the Pro. I kept the file hoping it would correct itself but it never did. You're probably better off starting a new one.

I literally started it yesterday, thank goodness. I'm just afraid of starting another one at this point. Do you think it could have happened due to downloading a custom draft class? I feel like I've seen a couple of people consistently tying in the issue & then mentioning they dl'd a draft class.

I'm using a custom draft class in my ML and it's fine. I just downloaded another while waiting on JDs 2nd year class. I know theres a weird hang sometimes after finishing a game and it's "communicating with the 2K server" or whatever. Something could be going wrong there. But who knows? Then again, if a bunch of people are having the issue with a particular class then it may have something to do with it.

I don't know...this is all too frustrating given I skipped M19 because of the bugs/issues.

I'm going to keep this save and try starting a new ML and close the game & reopen it to load the save. Not sure what else I can do at this point, this seems like a larger issue than just my own save.

The following suggestion is not going to fix an already affected file, but are you able to save the same file multiple times (as a backup) in MyLeague?

Are these MyLeague file corruptions, draft issues and offseason freezing happening OFFLINE or just online?

It appears they are happening in both, I am just playing offline.

This issue pops up dating back to the launch of the game for ML and not a single person posting about the issue has also posted a solution or something they got back from 2K.

I mean, this is not a bug, this is a complete game breaking issue...

To do that I'll have to create another ML & then try and save it multiple times. As for the current ML with the issue, I can't open it. Not sure if that answers what you were asking, a little confused.

That happened to me in 17. So what I did is whenever I start a my league I always create or save a backup file just in case if some BS happens. Everytime I was finished with my league for the day I would save my current status by overriding the extra my league file that I saved as a backup in the beginning. That way, if the current save got corrupted, I could just go to the extra saved my league that I have and continue with that and just repeat the process. Sounds tedious but in the end it helps bc I spend lots of time creating jerseys logos and courts for certain teams. You don’t have to save multiple my leagues if you try to follow the process I have. It has worked for me since I’ve tried it. I have 2 my leagues at the moment. One with the Sonics and another with the bulls

Alright so I make a ML, then save it. Then, save the same myleague into a different file as the backup. Wouldn't saving over it possibly corrupt both, if one got corrupted? It's the same info, just two different saves.

There has to be something that triggered the corruption. A file doesn't just corrupt because it's Thursday at 5 pm, something has to go wrong. If it wasn't somewhat self caused, I feel like the issue would be so large it would be impossible for 2K to ignore. The issue seems like it's relatively small, this is the first post I've seen about it in 2k19 on these forums.

The only two things I did were DL a very popular draft class & a very popular progression set. Aside from that, I did no other creating, editing, or DLing.

It could be a million things, honestly. Maybe you could do everything you did before and see if it corrupts again. At least that way you could isolate whatever is causing it. I never thought about backing up a ML file but I'm definitely gonna do it now. Just in case... Like I said, I've had the game hang on me a few times already while communicating with the server to the point where I had to just cancel it. I've also had the blue screen once during FA.

Clarification. It was more about approaching future save files to hopefully avoid such an issue. Similar to writing digital documents in Microsoft Word or creating digital artwork in photoshop, iOS procreate, or your choice of software.

If something unfortunate happens to copy1, you’ve got copy2 and copy3 as spares.
