CPU always going inside the paint gotta stop smh

The last few years the cpu on all difficulty levels drives to the paint 98% of the time like crash dummies. I build the wall of China on these fool's and they still crash .You know it's bad when the warriors and step curry act like LeBron James all day with very low 3 point attempts smh

Just adjust the attack the basket slider.

I for one have and it doesn't matter. For example I had Jeff Teague just continually trying OVER and OVER to get in the paint. Pounding the ball for 18 seconds on offense. I'd have 3 guys in front of him with Robert Covington just hanging out at the 3 line completely uncovered and Teague with no interest in passing it out.

        It's insane

I feel ya on that, some adjust attack the basket tend, I normally adjust it too but mostly reduce the CPU's ball security to 30.
My issue isn't them attacking it's them being stopped 2 or 3 times in one drive but keep attacking but NEVER lose the ball.

Attack The Basket slider and Look For Post Player. It’ll help out a lot with ball distribution.

            Try these and tweak:

            Attack The Basket: 35
            Look For Post Players: 80

I really think there's something to this.

I've said for years that 2K plays differently in the early morning (Eastern time) when you'd expect there to be less traffic on 2K's US servers (west, mountain, & midwest timezones should, as a whole, have less users on)

Compared to 2K in the late evening (all timezones active).

It's understandable that most folks only play during certain hours, so they only experience the game one way. But I picked up on it years ago when I would try to get a game in at the *** crack of dawn vs a late night. It just felt like a diff game. (this is all offline NBA modes)

I never tried playing the game disconnected from the 'net on this gen (used to on the 360 to avoid patches), but it would make sense that it gives a diff feel.

For some reason if you turn the internet off before starting the game the CPU will take a variety of shots from midrange, from three and they will run more plays, with internet on the CPU will attack the basket relentlessly and barely shoot threes or take midrange shots. I have no idea why tho...

I'll try the post thing. I have attack the basket and post down at 10 each. Mid is at 15. I jumped 3s up to 80 but they still don't shoot enough. Probably because fast breaking EVERYTHING and driving incessantly against me kinda works. So it's on me somewhat for not being better at stopping it.

To combat the driving to the basket, you really have to edit the rosters. That's what I did and the game plays a WHOLE lot more realistic.

Basically I edited everyone's layup, drive (all types), ISO, 3pt spot, 3p contested, and pass out tendencys ( I edited everything else but these 6 tendencies tend to affect the driving to the basket the most).

Also, playbooks have a lot to to with this as well.

In a nutshell, editing the sliders is like getting liposuction to loose weight in where as editing rosters is like working out and eating right... I think you all may know which one is better for you.... sliders is a quick fix but it doesnt get to the core of the problem.

I've found that simply not guarding the ball handler bringing the ball up court tends to lead to them initiating offense vs relentlessly trying to get to the basket. As soon as the first pass is made then I guard on ball and the cpu continues to run the play as intended with far less bullying into the paint.

I spent the entire 4th quarter in a 2-3 zone against the Hawks, watching Trae Young slam himself again and again into a packed paint. ended the game on a 16-0 run.

I shouldn't have to do this. I'm really hoping a good roster like CelticsLG will alleviate this issue.
