    The 'auto-post' feature

Is anyone else finding it unresponsive?

As someone who likes to post up 15-20 feet from the basket, I have a lot of trouble getting my guy to post up.

I wish they had of given us a button to active the post-up move like in the past

    Re: The 'auto-post' feature

Been trying this out and it's VERY tough to post up, if the player isnt already calling for it.

    Disappointing.

its hard especially when you want to back down mid-post with a guard or when you are already facing up

Exactly. I just wished they left the button to activate a post up in the game.

I knew this would be a problem the first time I read about it. I'm don't want "auto" anything, I'm a rabid fan of having total control.

It's awkward and a bit irritating however like always as a die hard 2K fan I'll just learn to adjust.

I just want to know WHY they did this. Like who thought it would be a good idea and who thought it would be a good idea to agree and ok this

Seriously. Nothing like posting up should ever be "auto." It's never going to work FOR the player, and the game will NEVER be able to understand when the player wants to post. I suspect that it's even more frustrating for people trying longer range fadeaways with Dirk, and KG.

Was the auto-post supposed to open up more control? When u go to the tutorial, all of the post moves are basically the same (except they took AWAY the raise the ball in the air animation). So really, I don't know why they changed it.

Maybe I'm missing something, but the up-and-unders are MAD unresponsive now.

The post moves have felt unresponsive for YEARS now. I hate them. Pushing the sticks should have immediately effects in the post, but most of them tend to take forever and get blocked.

I'm hoping the outcry about this is enough for them to either revert to the old control system (doubtful) or at least allow users to choose it as a controller scheme (which would eliminate post fakes -- I'd gladly take that trade-off).

And the thing that trips me out is BOTH Live and 2K magically do this the same year? I'm sorry but it makes no sense to have an auto post

Yeah the autopost up is a disaster. With the shaky player movement, taking away control just makes it worse. I'm moving with allen iverson, and he randomly autoposts up...like he can do anything in the post. All it does is cause 3 sec calls.

But with off ball controls, you can post on command.

The only reason I could see why they made the auto-post feature is to get rid of that awkward backing down animation when you aren't engaged. Even then, it should be initiated by the L-trigger, and go into a backdown animation once you are engaged. Holding the L-trigger while not engaged should be a "protect the ball" dribble.

Speaking of the L-Trigger, why did they get rid of being able to hold the L-Trigger while dribbling up the court? I liked the "dribble between the legs" animation.

They took out the L trigger post because they wanted to implement the L trigger for dribble moves. This way, you could do dribble moves without using your turbo, which is R trigger as usual. Last year, dribble moves were linked to the R trigger.
