    Please patch Fast Breaks!!

Lower the anticipation of the defense after missed shots if you have to. Anything to open up the fast break game. It's damn near impossible to get fast breaks, even on default pro. Playing with an uptempo team like GS is useless because they can't run the break. Just lower the transition D enough to open up realistic opportunities for fast breaks. If you do that it would be the perfect game IMO, but as of right now that's a big problem.

Let them run though. Teams in real life run on a lot of possessions, and they just need to adjust it so that fast breaks happen in a realistic amount. I can barely get them with a team like GS who relies heavily on fast breaks. They just need to happen more frequently then they do now.

For you, it may feel like you can't fastbreak. For Joe Schmoe, he probably feels it is the perfect balance. Can't please everyone.

I do think Fast Breaks need some ever so slight tweaking. As it stands now, there is no reason why my guy on the fast break should perform some deliberate action to slow down so the defense can catch up. That is unrealistic.

After playing pro/sim for five games, i switched to pro/default and had 16 fastbreak points with the Celtics in 10 minute quarters. Considering i only had 84 points for that game, i though that was pretty good. I plan to play more on pro/default tonight and tomorrow but my point was you can get FB points there although i wish it was a tad easier. On pro/sim i would get like 2-6.

Re: Please 2k, patch Fast Breaks!!

I agree that the fastbreak has an issue. It needs to be tweaked a little bit because on my first 10 games playing 12 min quarters on default settings, the CPU had an average of 12 fast break points and I had 0-4 only. The CPU had an average of 15 steals and I only averaged 5. CPU had 'an average of 3-5 turnovers to my 15.

I think there are two things that need to be checked...

One is the white indicator on directional passing. There are a lot of times that even though the player you want to pass to has the white indicator, the pass still goes to someone else. This causes a lot of turnovers even if you are being careful with your pass selection. I have seen other threads talk about this issue as well, and icon passing is not the ultimate solution for this issue because there are situations where you just don't have the time to pull up the icons and choose which one to pass to.

Second is that on fastbreaks (i.e. 3 vs 2) in real life there's typically more space between the players. In addition, the defending players are, most often than not, are outnumbered by the players on offense, which means that even if they are facing the ballhandler, they still have a little bit of hesitance on which offensive player to commit to. Therefore, the game has to be tweaked in such a way that it considers spacing and the hesitation of the defending players (on fastbreaks) in such a way that they are not so accurate in tipping or intercepting passes in these fastbreak situation (psychic defenders).

Another thing that could help the fastbreak game and perhaps make the game closer to real life is the addition of bounce passes on fastbreaks. Maybe bounce passes are there, but in my 14 games that I played, most if not all, interception or tips where due to the fact that the passes could have been a bounce pass (ala Deron Williams) instead of an aerial pass.

This is a constructive criticism that may bring the game even closer to perfection if tweaked. Please 2k...

That's because 2k10's fast breaking was wide open. You could run the floor and have beautiful 3 on 2 fast breaks play out realistically. It's not happening in 2k11. It's always 3 on 3 or 3 on 4 with poor spacing. I'd like to see someone try and play realistically with the Warriors and put up 120 points. It would never happen because you can't get out and run. In 2k10 on the other hand you could

anyways, the OP is right. the CPU is the only one who can fast break with the out the box settings. fast break points don't exist on the higher levels vs the CPU. meanwhile the CPU will thrive in that department.

Come on, jeebs, not every complaint is because players were spoiled by the ease of 2k10. They are being realistic here; fast breaks are not as smooth as they should be.

It shouldn't be wide open all game but the opportunity to get true three on twos or two on ones happens very rarely and should be tweaked a bit.

I play with the Warriors and I get 10-16 fast break points per game but they are all off of steals - not missed shots...if people don't want transition D tweaks then what about a setting/adjustment to PG positioning for outlet passes? In reality when a Warriors big grabs a rebound, Steph Curry is heading up the floor by the time the pass is made...in 2k11 Curry ends up standing still at the free throw line to accept the pass...

I will keep posting it if I keep saying people say the samething over and over.

And to the guy who sad he can't get fastbreaks off of rebounds. That is totally BS. Last night I ran a fastbreak clinic on both my friends last night with the Thunder. Westbrook was catching the ball a little above the freethrow line. And we were off.

edit: You know what this weekend.... I'm going to post several reels showing you how to do it. I do it vs the CPU and vs users on Hall Of Fame. I'll get back to this thread after.

It is funny how some people are just too close-minded.

Online games are different from player vs CPU games. This issue is more prominent with the latter because the CPU seems to be very accurate in tipping and intercepting passes even on fastbreaks.
