I am seriously thinking about doing some sort of experiment/research with the biggest flaw of NBA 2k14. I noticed the momentum swings right away when I first started playing this game and a lot of people on here thought I was crazy for believing in such a thing. A few of you noticed it too, I will say.
I play exclusively online (for money actually). I can't even count how many total games I have played. The 2k developers can say what they want, but I know for a fact there is such a thing as a comeback feature. And if you've played enough, you should notice it.
Now I understand comebacks and momentum swings happen in real life, I GET IT. I've watched enough basketball to realize that, and I know this is just a video game. But when I say I would rather be down by 5 with 2min left than be up by 5, you know something is wrong.
This also may sound crazy, but I am 99% confident that the sliders CHANGE on their own during these momentum swings. For example, if I am in a comeback feature against a guy online, instead of the sliders being on 50 (or whatever the default is), they will automatically go up to a number like 70 or 75 and allow me to hit more shots, get lucky strip steals, blocks, etc. so I can comeback. I know I'm going out on a limb saying that, but I'm a big believer that is the case when it comes to momentum swings.
I haven't played the next gen version yet, but I really hope this type of B.S isn't on there. The developers of 2k14 can say whatever they want about how there is no such thing as a comeback feature or huge momentum swings. But I've played this game enough to realize there are.
