Upcoming 2K Football Game Delayed Until at Least 2022

Talk about deflating after waiting over 16 years for an NFL licensed 2K football game. A straight Adam Vinatieri kick to the balls, no pun intended.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but I think if this was an incredibly dumbed down game akin to NFL Playgrounds that a delay may not have happened. It's purely a guess. This makes me personally feel like the game will have a bit more complex gameplay and be something closer to The Yard in Madden or more, than it is some 3v3 NFL Arcade game that's purely animation based.

If it’s a good game, I’m willing to wait an extra year so they can iron out whatever issues there might be.

Exactly! It's been this long since APF 2k8 so what's another year, especially if Visual Concepts is behind the game?

Either way, whatever they are working on, it's being kept insanely close to the vest. That has me thinking that those of us with low to moderate expectations might be in for a bit of a pleasant surprise.

My belief is that, 2k has figured out a way to wrestle the arcade specific out of the contRact but it’ll take the following year to be usable.
So they scraped this arcade game and start working on a Simulation successor to nfl2k5.
Instead of wasting resource on an arcade style game.
If this happens remember who said it .!
It’s is way to fishy .!!!

I definitely think the nfl & 2k is behind the scenes going back and fourth.
And they cannot announce the end of the ea exclusive deal until next year .

Ea already renewed the License for a another 5 years with a 1 Extra year option added
