I have it now.




Reflections/first impressions:

* You definitely feel the defense is improved, it is actually harder just to enter the offensive zone in practice mode.
* I absolutely love the 3D crowd, it makes the presentation so much better. A retexture of this would be interesting.
* The game feels much more polished, the flow is better even though the puck drops at the boards are still there.
* The goalies seem a bit weak. Judging by your posted stats (SV%) and what I tested myself, I beat Canada 87 with Sweden 87 7-2 in 7 minute periods by basically skating into the zone and shooting from distance. I'll try to tweak some sliders and see what I can do to lessen the efficiency of this strategy. I feel it would be nice if it was harder to enter the zone centrally to get a shot away and keepers should be better at catching far away shots from the sides. In my second game I have 7-1 early in the second period with Canucks vs Flames (using my 19/20 roster). The flames goalies have combined to save 36% of the shots at the moment, 5-1 after the first, where I set goalie skill to 100. Game ends 12-2, Flames keepers get 60 SV%, 2/3 periods were at 100 goalie skill. Third game, lowered shooting accuracy to 47 and checking efficiency to 15 (I realize I kind of spam the checking button at times since it is the most efficient way to win the puck). Edmonton vs Toronto. I win 9-1. Toronto has 68 SV%. My keeper actually has 94 SV% on 17 shots which is pretty good. Perhaps just lowering the user shot accuracy will do the trick.
* The backhand shots are still too strong. Don't know if you can effect them individually though.
* The new puck physics are great
* Rebounds are as you say much more alive.
* Flipping the puck is better now.
* Animations of shots etc feel more in place - overall more smooth
* The quick spin around turns (when players drop the puck for instance) that players do are still there
* There can be a lot of dropping the puck
* This is a definite improvement over 0.7.2 - the issues I mentioned except the goalies were already present in the previous version. Playing against the computer is not as not as challenging as 0.5 was though but I might get there by slider tweaking.



Personal opinion:
* As I was afraid, side view is annoying with the camera cuts during play especially the monitor view. It's not a view you see very often in a real broadcast.





Some bug reporting:
* Tested the action cam in the practice mode and the game crashed...
* There's this unknown nr 78 on the Canadiens...
