    Steam Sales/Games Discussion

Now would be a good time to turn on Steam if you've got a PC.

Perhaps the best deal is the 2K pack which includes NBA 2K11,Mafia,Mafia II (w/ both DLC),Borderlands (w/ all DLC),Bioshock,Bioshock 2,Civ IV (w/ all DLC),Pirates,Misadventures of PB Winterbottom, all current X-Com games (w/ DLC),all Stronghold games/DLC and a few smaller and older sports games for $80.

Then there's the $40 Rockstar pack with all GTA games (+ DLC),both Max Payne games,Manhunt,Midnight Club 2 and Bully.

    The Square Enix/Edios pack with all Tomb Raider,Hitman,Deus Ex,Kane & Lynch,& Just Cause (+ DLC) games,Arkham Asylum,Front Mission Evolved,Supreme Commander,Final Fantasy XI and a few smaller things for $75.

Bethesda pack with Morrowind,Oblivion,Fallout 3...all GotY editions,Fallout Vegas,Rouge Warrior and Call of Cthulhu for $70.

There's a few more bigger name packs as well and a lot of indie packs/games on sale including Football Manager 2011.
Also publisher sales. 25% off most Ubisoft games,33% off all Codemasters games,25-50% off a few EA games and so on.

Today's specific deals include all recent games in the Prince of Persia series (Sands of Time to Forgotten Sands) all 75% off each,F.E.A.R 1 & 2 combined for $10,Super Meat Boy for $3.75,F1 2010 for $20 and Bad Company 2 for $6.80.

Thanks for the heads up, goh.

I just bought Portal and BF: BC2 for 9 freaking dollars. I love it when steam runs these deals.

If Dragon Age or Mass Effect 2 go up I'll be buying them instantly. I have them on cd but my m11x doesn't have a cd drive and I'm not buying an external hdd just to bring them over.

EDIT: Right after I post this I find the Dragon Age Origins complete pack on sale. Oh no! It begins!

OMG must resist urge (and I don't even have a gaming PC).
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

One thing I'm doing is only buying games that are daily deals. I don't want to buy a non daily deal game only to have it go on sale later. I think it should work out.

Impulse had Dragon Age Ultimate Edition for $24.97 during Black Friday. That was a hell of a deal that I jumped on. I would've preferred to get it on Steam, but I didn't want to risk them not matching it. I do wonder if they'll make it one of their daily deals. I'm really hoping Mass Effect 2 will be a daily deal.

All I have to say is **** you Steam.

Games I want to look into:

                        NBA2K11
Warhammer 40K Dawn of War II
                        Crysis
                        L4D2

and oh so many more. Must resist after what Black Friday did to my pocketbook.

                          Re: Steam massive Xmas sale

                          Today's Steam purchases:

The Witcher: Enhanced Edition - $5
Defense Grid: The Awakening - $2
                          Puzzle Quest - $1.50

I'm starting to hate Steam for what they're doing to my wallet. Cyros pretty much sums up exactly how I feel when he says **** you Steam. I have spent $55 (plus tax since I live in WA) so far for ... 16 games, I think it is. I'd say that's pretty solid.

I agree... I love Steam, and hate the wallet damage they do... but they are minimalistic damages!

When these come down so cheap (like The Witcher) I always end up re-buying them from the boxed version of games so I have them all neatly on Steam. Not a huge deal when the price is low.

But I do not buy boxed versions PC games anymore, since Steam gets most of them, minus intrusive DRM most of the time.

Yeah I already had The Witcher Enhanced Edition in physical form. I bought it like a year ago for $35. Played for about an hour before I put it down and never got back into it. But for $5 and the convenience of Steam, I'm all in.
