Even as a Pirates fan, I still think it's hilarious. It also reminded me of one of my favorite quotes from last year (see my sig)
I remember someone last year was selling a #14 Pirates jersey (Bell's old #) on ebay last year with the name O. Shutdown on the back. The Pirates overpaid for Derek Bell 2 years ago in what proved to be GM Cam Bonifay's last hurrah. He was HORRIBLE! (sorry, Bill Walton) And in Spring Training last year when someone asked him about being benched he said something to the effect of, "If I'm not playing everyday, then I'll go into Operation Shutdown." I believe he was released within a week or two. Another bad Pirates veteran signing in the vane of Al Holland, Hendricks (I forget his first name, and no it wasn't Jimi, wisenheimer!) Steve Kemp, Johnnie LeMaster, Sixto Lexcano, amd Walt Terrell.The New England Patriots cheated to win four Super Bowls.Comment
