    1/2 - 1/15 Games Discussion Thread

The Thunder need to trade everything and go for it all this year!

(This is sarcasm so spare me your essays. Ya’ll know who you are too so don’t make me use names lol)

To me White has that Draymond-like impact for them where he's not the most talented, skilled, or would stand out nearly as much on a bad team but his impact on Boston is huge.

You have to factor in that less is expected of him for sure, he's going to draw a lesser defender than Brown most nights, he doesn't have Brown's size, but I feel like he does almost everything on the floor better than Brown does and does it much more consistently, he's the perfect glue guy for them.

Can’t even front, I feel like part of his hype also has something to do with where he plays at. That Celtic brand is strong, just like the Lakers brand.

Anyway, I hope that franchise actually accomplishes something besides just beating up on teams in the regular season. Last time they won a championship, we were rocking button up shirts with jeans in the club 🥱

Even if it wasn't Celtics/Lakers brand it's still largely because of where he plays because he wouldn't have the same value on a bad team. He's very much of the mold of Draymond, Ben Wallace, Dennis Rodman type in that sense. He's much more skilled than any of them, he's a 50/40/90 guy, but he's not going to be a star on a bad team is my point. He needs stars around him and he will compliment them better than 99% of other role players will.

I feel like he was much the same for San Antonio but at the time he couldn't really shoot. Now that he can, I mean he doesn't really have a flaw. Can get you 15-20 a night as a 3rd/4th option, 3:1 a/tov ratio, shoots 50/40/90 (technically 49/42/89 right now) plays elite defense, blocks more shots as a guard than Jordan/Wade did, and for the second year in a row now has been their best player in terms of on/off splits.

Personally I felt he was a better player last year, better defender than last year, than Marcus Smart and was part of the reason I was so high on them getting rid of Smart. So it's been a two-year thing for me. Now if Memphis would just do the same lol.

I was so exhausted last night. I could tell that was going to be a good game. I'll definitely pick it up tomorrow morning.

I also saw Magic-Kings was a similar double Overtime.

Y'all seen this? [emoji23]. This is why they need to stop giving players techs. This **** is dangerous.

OJ, you follow the Lakers/Lebron more than anyone here…does Ham finish the season and who takes over for Rob to run the Bball Ops side?

The Shams tweet already out and knowing how/who he gets his info from, it’s usually only a matter of time before something happens lol

I'm gonna be honest, I think Ham has looked like not the guy since day 1. But I think the players really like him, and they made the WCF last year so I didn't really see him going anywhere. Letting him go right after letting Frank go, idk how you just keep playing that game and hope to get better.

I read the article from the Athletic and originally thought Shams tweet was slightly misleading. Ham is pointing to injuries and players being in and out as the issue and players are saying they should be winning games regardless. So I thought that was the "disconnect" and not really a big deal. But then I realized Shams/Buha claimed they had 6 sources lol.. So maybe there is actually something there.

Rotations have been a mess, I know DLo has been talking about it all year and that likely grew louder when he was benched. Bron mentioned it earlier on when Ham was playing him the low minutes and always having Bron+DLo on the floor/off the floor at the same time. Wood has played well but doesn't have a role night to night and has all of Laker twitter/reddit/etc thinking they need to go get another back-up big when they could probably just play him..

I honestly thought we would just see a trade. Consolidate some of these guys into 1-2 players so that Ham doesn't really have the opportunity to struggle with who to play and who not to play. But now idk. I don't think they can fire Ham and go grab a replacement and expect that to fix current issues either if the current issues are largely based on rotation/chemistry/player roles.. Could promote Handy but he's a player development guy, maybe they think Doc/Budenholzer is the answer? IDK what to think honestly.

I do know that most of the Lakers internet seems to believe that no trade even a homerun is going to fix the Lakers with Ham coaching. I'm not sure I believe that but if Lakers fans feel that way, and now the players are telling reporters they feel that way, Rob and them might have an issue on their hands.
