    NBA Draft 2020

I know it's early lol. But LaMelo Ball number one pick?

I wish he played for a league I was familiar with. He would of been great for college basketball. They would of followed him like crazy. I'm talking about the Media lol.

    He's got decent skills though.

        15 points on 4-15 FG, 1-6 3PT, 6-8 FT
        7 dimes, 4 TO, 2, reb 2 stl

I imagine LaMelo will be one of the most controversial prospects this year. Probably not Cam Reddish level though.
        • His shot looks better, especially his footwork. His footwork used to be awful and he was off-balanced and had his feet set at odd/different widths. His shoulders are more square to the rim now. He keeps his elbow out still but I'm okay with that. Overall his jumper looks smooth. Still, from what I read was dreadful from the outside.
        • His athleticism still concerns me. He's not an explosive leaper and like Lonzo he's not all that quick with the ball and doesn't have a great change of direction. I think he may be less quick than Lonzo. He obviously needs to get stronger but so does nearly every prospect.
        • He does have a savviness to his game and already plays with a good pace. Like Lonzo, he's unselfish and looks to get teammates involved. Good vision and passing instincts.
        • I'm not surprised to see we didn't get a single defensive highlight. I need to see some tape on that end of the floor. He has a reputation of being extremely lazy, especially off the ball. Lonzo at least always gave effort at UCLA and has turned into a pretty good defender in the NBA.
        • He seems to be maturing a bit and hopefully losing the bad habits he displayed in the US.

As of now--without having seen any of the rest of the prospects--he strikes me as a mid lottery guy.

Mid-Lotto is about right for him.

What's not going to help him is that his NBL team is straight up hot garbage.

Anyone got any targets they like?

Anthony Edwards.... I can't to see him.

I saw Duke played a game tonight.

Cole Anthony to the Knicks. Heck..he'd be the best PG on our roster right now.

I'm not feeling Lamelo at all. When I watched him and Spire play at a tournament. I came away more impressed with his teammate Rocket Watts. He's got talent, but these high school teams play the most egregious defense you've ever seen.

Lamelo is all flash he's got good vision and can shoot but he's streaky, and needs to get his weight up. Lazy on defense, and doesn't have that much bounce.

Sounds like I'm hating on the kid. But I wasn't blown away like everyone else there that watched him.

We could use some of that in Charlotte. We need a starting SG.

He's pretty clearly a special talent. Just hope he keeps his head on straight and gets a bit stronger.

And that's the thing for me right now... When I watch Lonzo game vs his game. Like he can create his own shot. Which I'm starting to think Lonzo can't really. Like take a game over. Things can change. But he's ahead of his brother there

We got some games on tonight. I'm waiting to see Veron Carey son play his first game.

Absolutely. He’s a better ball handler and while his shot mechanics are a mess, it’s a beautifully quick mess that he can get off whenever he wants. Lonzo just isn’t capable of that.
