Where Art Thou College Hoops 2K9?

I'm still playing College Hoops 2K8 and loving it. I kept playing my SUNS Franchise in NBA 2K8 because I'm a big fan of seeing the guys that played in the college game move on into the draft. NBA 2K9 is a lot of fun so far, but I still like 2K8 a little more because the gameplay is so familiar. I hope 2K bring All Pro and College Hoops back. NFL 2K5 and All Pro 2K8 are still light years ahead of the games EA is putting out. Even NHL 2K9 made a huge jump this year and is better than NHL 09 once its tuned right.

Great article! 2K7 was my first experience with 2K Sports (after a major disappointing show by march Madness) that game got me playin NBA 2K7 as well. I love the college game and I'm really disappointed that there will be no college basketball this season.

I am not going to miss it at all. I bought it the last two seasons and barely ever played it because it was just like a generic NBA 2K.

with the exception of 2k3 and 2k8 college hoops always been the better game

Agree 100%.

The high turnover of players, 200+ teams and the 1 and done factor, keeps the game fresh. I still pop in older versions and still play those career legacy modes.

In all the versions of this game, I have won 2 national titles combined. I have played over 30 seasons and have played about 98% of the games. The 2% that werent played were because of bugs.

Ive had teams where I would get a number 1 seed, only to loose in the second round of the tourney.

There are times when I have felt that I have the game figured out, only to lose 5 games in a row.

In addition this game, always throws in new surprises.

case in point; in a recent game an opposing team was down two with less than 10 seconds two go. the pg puts up a jumper, misses the shot the ball is going out of bounds only to have the center dive out of bounds, throw the ball to the Pf who misses a lay up at the buzzer.
(even the mrs, who is occasionally around when I pop on the game was impressed with that sequence of events)

This is also one of the few games where if you blow out an opponent, it feels like a reward.

IMO, this is by far the best sports series ever!!!!!!

Extremely dissapointing. I am just enjoying NBA 2K9 as much as possible in case the day comes where we have no 2K basketball game at all...

Another great game dies, another choice exterminated for me as a consumer. All because of exclusive licenses and greed. There was a article in Game Informer a couple of months back about this and the huge sum of money that EA offered the NCAA Basketball License people and 2K was in no way going to match it. That is why there will be no CH2k9. I guess I will be playing 2K8 for a while.
