Xbox Experience coming 11/19 - requires 128mb of space
Well it was confirmed earlier this week for the 19th of November. It was also confirmed today that it requires at least 128mb.
Microsoft has released an official statement stating that the New Xbox Experience will require 128MB of free space (a hard drive is recommended to "take advantage of some new features"). The company also said that "a small percentage of Xbox 360 owners do not have enough memory to accommodate the update" and will be "offering storage solutions to the Xbox LIVE community."Tags: None -

Hopefully, but either way they've got to do something free for non-HD people because otherwise they lose Xbox Live for those users unable to upgrade. MS is in another horrible situation because of an even more dumb design decision (check out 5W-G for more info, Shawn's been screaming this for years 5W-G Told you so articleNintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

It will be interesting to see. Saying go buy a HDD will ignite a media fire storm; giving away free 256MB will cost a lot of money and as you stated, won't really be 256MB.
They might have to strip down some features and just leave the necessary ones and find a way to store it on the OS reserved memory and have two updates. We'll see, either way it will be interesting to see how MS tackles this.Last edited by Altimus; 10-10-2008, 04:57 PM.Comment

Note to Tiburon Marketing:
A great product sells itself, no "back of the box" features required! (See Fifa...)

Don't they go pretty cheap on eBay? Or cheap compared to the retail price at least.Comment

I wonder if because of this they will get rid of the Core or pack it with a 20GB HDD?
I mean, future updates will come and you can't sell hardware that can't update itself out of the box.
But knowing MS, I wouldn't be surprised if they came out with a bigger memory card.Comment
