should the show go to right analog controls

this is the only thing keeping the game from being truly next gen. the game can get a bit tedious with the same boring controls every year. they are effective, but i prefer the right analog. 2k doesn't implement it perfectly, but it's much more fun to use. are the show developer's considering this for future games?

God no. I for one hate right analog stick controls for things like swinging. Developers always make it way too simplified. It's fine the way it is.

They can add them if they feel it'll attract a larger or new audience as long as they keep the current controls in there.

Re: should the show go to right analog controls

Using the right analog stick just to use it means it's a gimmick. There's nothing "next gen" about it, lol, don't know why some people are so sold on it as being so amazing.

God I would be so disappointed if MLB '10 switched to analog gimmicks.

        This guy said it best:
"I really hope that SCEA doesn’t cave to the people who are claiming the game needs to utilize the right stick more. If they do I’m pleading to only make right stick functionality as an additional option and not the defaults. Innovation for the sake of innovation is not a good idea. There is no reason to change the best pitching system and best batting system on the market today in order to present a image of innovation via the gimmicks of their inferior competition. The only RS functionality I actually like is throwing to the bases. The others offer nothing more than being able to claim they are innovative and “next-gen”

Because using the right stick is EXACTLY like swinging a bat and throwing a ball. Give me a break. Its a stupid gimmick and nothing more. It works well in boxing, golf and maybe tennis games.

they should definitely add it. It just feels natural, somehow. Pull the stick back to load up and push forward to swing...

I hope not. D-Pad is great.
Not perfect, but the right analog is not sensitive enough.

HA! That was the best! They implemneted the "swing stick" the best.....

They should add it, but give us the option.

Why do people keep asking this question . nex-gen means to do what couldnt be done last gen. Analog controls has been done last gen, therefore its not nex-gen. Next question.

They can go to right stick controls only if they leave the classic controls as an option. I've hated right stick controls ever since I first played with them in NCAA Baseball.

They should definitely had r-stick controls but not at the expense of removing button controls. Many people like r-stick controls so give the user both options.

To me, it depends. Are they gonna make it like 2k? If so, then I say no. However if they want to make it more like NHL 09, where the stick is your bat and you have to move the bat with the r stick to same location of the strike zone to hit the ball, then sure. Would that probably be way to hard? Yeah probably and I'm sure I'd never use it. But to me me, while it works great in NHL 09, it's 100% opposite for MLB 2k9. It just doesn't feel natural the way 2k9 does it.

It is NOT "next gen", it could have been done on the PS1 for crying out loud.

It is a gimmick, especially since the step influence was taken out, it is no different than classic now.

And I dont care for the Street Fighter styled pitching as well. Another gimmick that acts just the same but with extra motion steps.

Dont fix was isnt broken. It works well with the formula they have. And if they do decide to add something, it should NOT be at the expense where it will effect the stellar game-play of the classic controls. Cause if it does, it would be a waste and game-breaking.

People need to understand that there are a lot of people that like 2K more than the Show just because of the r-stick controls and full control of their fielders. Some people love to have a lot of user input. If Sony added r-stick controls as an option it would only help them and make everyone happy.

Why is everyone turning this into a button vs. analog argument? There is no reason the Show can't have both to make everyone happy.
