    How much sleep do you get each night and how much do we actually need?

    I'm a 5 to 7 guy, but I normally nap an hour during the day. Even during that, I don't normally exceed 7 hours unfortunately.

      I sleep from 10-12 hrs a night.

        I sleep about 10-12 hours a night. If I get less than 10 hours I feel really horrible and have lots of difficulty waking up.

          Wow 10-12 is way too much sleep. I've heard doctors say that's too much. 7-8 for me..
          NBA2K is the standard of sports games period.

            Right around 7 to 8 hours on any given night. Sometimes I will get less than that depending on how early I have to get up the next day. I am just in a very bad habit of staying up too late (2-3am). I need to correct this.

              I wish I could get 10-12 hours, that's a ridiculous number to me. 7-9 usually for me, on days I have exams in the morning, I could sleep anywhere between 4-6 hours due to studying (procrastination). I should work on getting more sleep though.

              I also take naps sometimes during the day.

                  Anywhere from 4-7 hours usually, sometimes 3. I have to get up at 7:30 AM on weekdays and I usually go to bed at 1-2 AM, so around 5-6 hours of sleep is probably most common. I don't think I've went to bed before midnight in several years, so I don't get more than 7 hours of sleep during the week.

                  Of course, I'm up now at 2:41 AM and I have to get up in 4 hours and 49 minutes, so I should probably get to bed!

                  I always tell myself that I'm going to go to bed earlier when I'm tired in the morning, but then once night rolls around, I'm wide awake and not tired at all, so I don't end up going to bed until later. And that process is rinsed and repeated quite often.

                    I'm a sleeper man. Let me tell you. On weekdays, it's about 8 a night. On weekends, it's anywhere from 10-12. I NEED my sleep or I can't function properly(obviously everyone needs sleep, but I'm saying I need 8 hours a night.. anything less than that and I'm a grouchy bitch the next day). I love sleeping too.

                    I don't understand how people can get 5 hours of sleep a night. My dad is like that. He'll go to sleep at 9 pm and be up at 2-3 am. Like wtf? I remember back in HS, I'd stay up late on weekends and by the time I go to sleep, he'd already be up. I never understood how he could do that or how anyone can do that. Aren't you guys tired??

                        7-9 hours. Usually on work days it's 10 pm-5 am and weekends it varies.

                            7-8 for me on weekdays, 9-10 on weekends. What can I say I love to sleep; and when I wake I up; I look forward to my one hour nap after I hit the gym later in the afternoon.

                              I try to aim for about 8 hours but being in high school and all I only get a good 5-7 hours.
