Re: Guess Pitch - do you use it?

I used to use it and this year turned it off and see a huge variety in hits now. Seeing bloopers, gappers, choppers, all things I hadnt seen with guess pitch on.Check out my Tampa Bay Buccaneers CFM Thread.

You too can be a 5* recruit at FSU.......

Re: Guess Pitch - do you use it?

Well technically the most realistic would be to turn it on with no feedback. Hitters lock on to certain pitches depending on the count all of the time and it absolutely benefits them if they guess right. Having the markers pop up on the screen is unrealistic but the actual locking onto a certain pitch is not.Comment

but even with no feedback, dont you get some indicator telling you pre pitch if you guessed right on the pitch type?Well technically the most realistic would be to turn it on with no feedback. Re: Guess Pitch - do you use it?

Nope...No Feedback is No Feedback...you still get the power/contact bonuses, but there is no visual or audio clue.

I use it only when I'm ahead in the count. I know some people consider it 'cheating', but I look at it this way: it adds to MY enjoyment of the game so I use it...isn't that the whole idea?

Anyways, I use it for two reasons:

 1) Obviously it allows me to sit on certain pitches in certain locations and to get rewarded for being right.

 2) It really helps me draw walks. On 3-1 or 3-0 counts, when I guess right I can see if the pitch is out of the zone and lay off for the BB. Otherwise I have a terrible habit of chasing bad pitches.Last edited by spitoon; 06-17-2010, 12:26 PM.Comment

I used to use guess pitch in earlier versions but I personally get better hit variety without it.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon.
