Some players called by number, not name. Why?

1,000 yard rusher last season as a rookie...
And instead of calling him by his name, the announcer calls him "NUMBER TWENTY-SEVEN."

A lot of people are reporting in the impressions thread that some players are not called by name such as Locker, Tebow, etc...

Hers one for ya. Look at Blounts statistics from last season and keep in mind that this was done in 7 starts, now look at Peyton Hillis (cover boy, I know) and his stats. Now look at their ratings. Thoughts?

How in the world can EA mess up players being announced in this day and age??

Danny Woodhead isn't in the game either. I don't think they added 1 line of commentary.

Difference is that the Bucs are actually a good team. If Blount didn't have a good season, the Bucs still would've done good.

The Browns need Hillis. If Hillis had a bad season, the Browns would of been 0-16.

I like some ratings this year. They don't base it solely on stats but more on how they helped their team, the teams they faced, ect.

Yeah, there's quite a few Rams players who are getting called by their numbers instead...which is funny considering Amendola was in last year's game...

I guess their focus was on taking care of other issues and addressing all of the commentary fresh next year...which is fine, a little annoying, and definitely sucks for the Blount fans and what not.

i just think ea uses common names in game because last yr blount wasent in 11 neither they would just say the rb ran for 6 yards.

Poor Tim Tebow. First the analysts pile on him, now Madden 12's crappy announcer won't even speak his name.

I hope there is an option to turn commentary off, because if there is I'd prefer to play that way.

Aren't they like stripping commentary down kind of this year and then next year its supposed to be one of the big features for next year.
