Sometimes it's easy to overlook something that might appear to be less challenging than it seems. This is referred to as a "trap game" in the NFL. In order to continue the positive momentum the New England Patriots created with a convincing win over the New Orleans Saints they would have to come into Sunday's game focused and prepared.

A common theme for the Patriots over the past three games has been slow first halves and this game was no different. While the offense has been cool to start games, the Patriots' defense has started out hot in those games as well and it carried over into this game. The Patriots forced a three and out on the New York Jets first drive but they weren't able to do anything on their first drive as well. The Jets made the most of their opportunities on their second drive scoring on a 28 yard touchdown pass from Geno Smith to Stephen Hill. The Patriots finally managed to score on a 32-yard field goal from kicker Stephen Gostkowski.

The Jets take the early lead in the first quarter with a 28-yard touchdown pass from Smith to Hill.

The Patriots shook off the slow start in the second quarter by scoring twice on passes to Danny Amendola from Tom Brady. Not only did the offensive play improve, the defense improved as well. Aqib Talib and rookie defensive back Logan Ryan each had an interception in the second quarter that stopped a New York Jets drive. Heading into the second half, the Patriots had a comfortable 17-7 lead.

Rookie cornerback Logan Ryan gets his first interception of his career.

The Patriots received the ball to start the second half and they didn't take their foot off the pedal. This time Tom Brady found tight end Rob Gronkowski for two more touchdown passes in the third quarter. Mean while, the defense continued to frustrate Smith and the Jets. They were however able add kick a field goal late in the quarter. The Patriots made sure that any hopes the Jets had of a comeback would be put to rest.

The Patriots added another 21 points to their 31-10 lead in the fourth quarter. Stevan Ridley managed to find the endzone from 5 yards out and Brady connected with Gronkowski for the third time in the game. At this point the Patriots had built themselves a 45-10 lead in the last quarter. They managed to put a bow on their dominating win when Kyle Arrington ran back an interception 34 yards for a touchdown. With that, the Patriots completed their dominating win it's over division rival Jets.

Kyle Arringtons's interception return for a touchdown in the 4th quarter adds to the Patriots enormous lead.

Game Ball/Extra Reps

Game Ball:
Tom Brady: Brady has his best game of the year so far throwing 5 touchdown passes and no interceptions.

Rob Gronkowski: Gronkowski shows that he's probably one of the best tight ends in the league in his season debut.

Nate Solder: The strong play of Solder and the offensive line keeps Brady upright and untouched, the only blemish being one sack.

Extra Reps:
Alfonzo Dennard: It seems like every game, the Dennard will allow a big play or two.

Linebackers: Tight ends have been an issue for this unit all year. Jeff Cumberland and Smith take advantage of that.

Media Reaction
Trey Wingo @WingozEA: Going to pull out one of my favorite words here, quite a shellacking in New York.
Mike Clay @MClayEA: Tom Brady's fantasy value is at a season high after a 5-TD game. #SellHigh
Mike Hill @MikeHillEA: It's not quite "do you believe in miracles" but Tom Brady went TD crazt in the Patriots win.
