Somebody with both consoles (PS4 & XboxONE) help me out.

I was going to wait till next year to purchase a new console but my birthday is next month and I've decided to use it as an excuse to buy a new console now while my wife is willing be going half on it with me as a gift.
I thought E3 was going to be the determining factor in which console I choose but E3 was kinda weak this year IMO. Most of the games I like are on both consoles and non of them have any must have exclusives. So I need help choosing which console to buy next month. Right now I am leaning towards the PS4 because of PS Now, PS Plus, and PS TV (like the feature that you can have the console in one room, and play it in another room in your home.)
I guess now the big determining factor would be the online service/performance and features they offer. I know PS3 online was slow and laggy compared to the 360 last gen, is it the same case with the PS4? and which console does multi-platform games look and play better on?

Good luck with this man, I honestly think it will be hard to get unbiased reactions from people.

I own both. I like both a lot. That is all I will say publicly. I will PM you the rest of my response.

The online with the PS4 is nothing like PS3 online, I really can't tell a difference in online quality between the 2 systems, both perform well.

Yeah. IMO if you like the Xbox TV stuff (and other features), Kinect control (voice and otherwise) then I'd seriously look at that. PS4 is a bit better performer now (though MS is trying to get more power), so if you're a pure gamer I'd go more towards PS4.

I happened to like the TV stuff, and IMO the graphics differences are pretty tough to see unless you have them right next to each other.

I don't know which exclusives you like, that could help sway you if you're on the fence.

IMO though, they're both great systems, so you can't lose.

What TV stuff are you speaking of that you like? I like that you can play the game while watching TV at the same time (wish you could change the size of the pictures though.) And the fact that you don't have to change inputs.

If you play baseball games, get a PS4. Other than that, I think all other sports games come out on both consoles and don't have many differences between the consoles.

IMO it comes down to which system has the exclusives you like the best.
The tv stuff wasn't something I remotely cared about so that wasn't a big selling point for me.
MS's original plan at release really soured me but in the long run they did me a favor as I'm very happy with the PS4.

I am a baseball fan big time so the scales tipped heavily in the PS4 favor obviously.
PS+ right now is the better service as far as free games but Live is getting better.
                10.00 cheaper also.
PSN has been smooth for me with 2 complete Madden seasons and not one issue.

I was a huge 360 over PS3 last gen but this is totally flipped this go round for ME.

Both systems are nice but you just need to see what they are offering separate from each other and compare to what you want/like.

I have both and each of them are great, but I prefer the X1 because it has the better exclusive games right now and in the near future imo.

XBOX live is also better than PS online which is important to me because im mainly an online gamer.

Serious question as I haven't played online with LIVE since I dumped my 360 (although daughter still plays Halo online with hers):
What's better about LIVE over PSN as far as online play?
I've played online with PSN since I've gotten the PS4 and it's been silky smooth. Download speeds are also pretty good.
Just curious. I would have agreed a couple years ago with my PSN experience on PS3 but it's gotten a lot better since then.

For example, the Show has been laggy as heck online.

As far as downloading games digitally, it takes forever on the PS in my experience while it has been pretty quick on the X1.

It is early though and it's a good sign that PS seems to be putting more emphasis on online gaming this gen from the beginning. MS seems to put the most emphasis on it though and they also have more dedicated servers.

I think it really comes down to where your friends play, and which exclusives you prefer. Don't get too worked up over small visual differences between both systems.

My delima, last year near the launch of the new consoles I told my best friend I was getting an XboxONE, but I never did end up getting one. He ended up getting the XboxONE for Christmas most because I said I was getting one and we love to play sports games together.
But at the same time I like the PS4's exclusives better, Uncharted, The Last of Us, The Order. And the only XboxONE exclusive I like is Quantum Break. So I have to choose between my best friend (whos stays out of state) or the console I prefer.

You're on a sports gaming forum, so I'm going to take a shot in the dark and guess you play sports games more than anything else, and you might not want to disappoint your best friend. lol

Plus, some of those games you mentioned that are PS4 exclusives are sooooooo far off.

you know what?....I was sorta in the same dilemma a few years back.
My friend kept bugging me and bugging me to get a PS3...at that time we both played on the 360...but he kept saying how good the system was and the 1st party exclusives.

So I ended up buying a PS3,and really started liking the console more than the 360,and I enjoyed the exclusives more...so what happened was I stuck with the PS3,and he just stayed with his 360.

The moral of the story?....go with whichever console YOU want, because in the end,you need to be happy first and foremost, and not worry so much about what others want you to get. If he's really your friend,it shouldn't matter which console you get...if the PS4 makes you happy..get that, likewise for the One.

The one thing you DON'T want to do is 2nd guess your decision.
People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.
