Rangers Sweep Jays On Walk Off Bomb
Choo Hits Walk Off Shot

The Toronto Blue Jays were oh so close to avoiding the sweep at the hands of the Texas Rangers, but a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning off the bat of Rangers outfielder Shin-Soo Choo derailed the Blue Jays hope, sending the Rangers to their first series sweep of the season.

Blue Jays catcher Dioner Navarro hit his seventh homer of the season in the top of the seventh inning to tie the game up after an Elvis Andrus RBI single in the bottom of the second inning gave the Rangers the lead.

Brandon Morrow struggled early on, giving up a solo homer in the top of the first inning, and surrendered 10 hits through 6 1/3 innings of work. "Brandon did his job, he kept us in the game," said manager John Gibbons, "It wasn't pretty, but it worked."

Opposing him was Rangers lefty Derek Holland, who threw seven innings of six hit ball, surrendering only the two runs to Brett Lawrie and Navarro.

The Blue Jays continue their road trip as they move to Boston, where Marcus Stroman will face off against Felix Doubront in the series opener at Fenway Park on Friday.
