Blue Jays Option Reimold to AAA, Recall Pillar
Boston-- Prior to their series against the Boston Red Sox, the Toronto Blue Jays announced that they have optioned outfielder Nolan Reimold to Triple-A Buffalo and have recalled outfielder Kevin Pillar from Buffalo.

"This was just a case of a player needing to go down and fix some things," said general manager Alex Anthopoulos.

Anthopoulos used current Blue Jays designated hitter Adam Lind as an example of this scenario. Lind was sent down to AAA in 2012 to work on his swing, and has since came back a changed player.

Pillar was hitting just over .290 before the callup.

"Kevin's been doing some real good things down at AAA, so we felt like it was time to give him a shot at the Bigs," said manager John Gibbons. "Of late, we've had the need of a productive bat in the lineup and we're hoping that Kevin can give us that."
