2K17 Shooting

I've read a couple of articles about 2k17, and they talk about shooting with the right stick and how you have to pull it straight back to get your shot on target, compared to this year where you could pull the right stick on an angle and your shot would still be on target as long as you timed the release.

My question is "What if you mainly use the button to shoot?". In 2k16 I shot nearly all of my jump shots with the button, only using the stick around the hoop, to finnish with the hand I wanted to avoid the block for example.
Since they have made shooting with the stick more difficult , I am wondering how will the shooting with the button be different, any ideas?

Shooting with the analog must provide a boost. Its the only thing that would make sense

I think the wording is a little misleading.

That's the only thing that I can think of.

I don't think there will be some kind of added advantage ("boost") if you use the stick. I think it's just for offline gaming for people who like a challenge this adds a new thing you can learn to master. Might be fun actually.

Online (or offline against another human) it will only hurt your chances using the stick on a simple jumpshot instead of the button.

So, it adds a new dimension to shooting if you want to use it. In a competitive game you don't have to use it if you don't want to.

Just my take.

Actually on yesterdays stream, Ronnie confirmed there is an advantage to using the stick. You will get a boost from it.

Kids going to not be able to turbo around all game, and either have to now aim with shot stick, or not get a boost with a nerfed shot button.

90% of the people I have ever known that play 2k use the button to shoot.

Complaints are going to be a plenty.

Love it. Been using the stuck only since 2k9.

true they have to disable X/Square for jumpshots imo.

Shot stick forever! As a player who plays full manual on fifa etc. I always love that you can enhance your own input the way you want. To me that's true skill so i always find it more pleasing. I hope that as fifa does with passing and defendin in which on dedense you can only use tactical defending (not auto defending) and for pass you don't have meter asistance to how you made your pass eventhough you're still asisted the power meter help isn't there.

Wow. That's just silly to me then. So these are not really alternatives then. Before we had equal alternatives both only dependent on timing.

Only thing i can think of is they want to move away from the shot button altogether (in future itarations) and try to get people to use the stick in order to lower the amout of complaints when the button is removed completely.

Mike Wang is slowly pulling the band aid (shot buttons) off. So that the button guys will not feel to much pain. I agree that he wants that extra button for more controls.

This is very similar to on ball defense. You got a bigger boost or defensive impact if you played on ball defense yourself then letting the CPU do it for you. Now that one shooting is harder than the button press the boost is greater for using the harder shooting control. If I had to guess it would be like at like 3-5% boost.

Bad idea imo. I use the button. Anyone who plays online knows that the input lag and sensitivity of the stick makes it vastly inferior.

Probably won't matter as the boost you get from using a laggy overly sensitive stick will probably just match a nerfed button anyway.

Sounds like some serious bull. I've never liked the stick and I'll never use it as long as the button is an option.

After viewing the video again, they mention having "Certain advantages" when using the stick. Don't exactly know if that means the shots will have a boost. Any ideas?
