Any news on NBA historic teams?

I haven't heard anything regarding this. All I've heard is that the few college teams in the MyCareer will have their own classic teams, but nothing NBA related.

legends get the shaft every year - i wouldn't expect anything more with 2k17.

There are NO NEW historic teams in 2K17 this year. Very horrible

Here's to hoping some come in a patch. If not, wtf? They could EASILY make one of Kobe's title teams from '09 or '10. Ya know, since he's on the cover of the Legend Edition and all. It would be a cool way to honor him. Same for Duncan. They could EASILY add one of the Spurs title teams.

I'm just glad we have great roster makers in the community.

Saw a clip of a partial scroll from 1965-1991. No new teams in that range, but the 85 Sixers are gone (I assume this means no more Moses Malone due to his death?)

Anthony Mason was taken out of 2K after he died a year ago too. I guess the rights get voided or something.

Darryl Dawkins is still in the game so I guess every case is different.

They should be ADDING teams with the size of the discs now.

Further more, why on EARTH even bother having Kobe on the cover, if you're not going to at least have a new classic team featuring him, or some kind of mode at least - to celebrate his career??!!

All this talk about legend and gold editions, and what do you get? A couple of bits of clothing/shoes for fantasy modes and some Virtual Currency.

Again, as another user wrote above - legends continually getting shafted because of the online/fantasy modes.

True, it's not the only issue, but one of them for sure.

Agree about Duncan. Same for Bryant too, especially seeing as they're plugging him on the covers.

Nothing but goodies for the fantasy modes when you buy the legend and gold editions, yet you would expect at least two new teams featuring Prime Duncan and Bryant to use instead of a bunch of virtual money and some in game clothes.......

I'm not surprised though. Legends have been totally shunned since we moved onto this gen of systems. Online and fantasy modes are 2k's baby, they don't really care about the rest of the stuff, it's just filler.

Still. Despite the gripes - day 1 purchase, as ever here.

Let's slow it down. As far as I know there just aren't any new teams between 1965 and 1991. Was anyone even asking for one in that range?

Unless someone wants to correct me, there isn't any evidence either way that we don't have any new classic teams this year.

And the 85 sixers needed to be dropped anyway. It was missing two all star caliber players (Barkly and Toney) from day 1 so they were never worth using.

If 2K lost the rights to Moses (assumption on my part but very likely) then there isn't a point in having them. You get a superior Dr. j on the 1977 sixers anyway.

Yup, several threads on here have seen people requesting teams from that time frame, myself included.

It's true we've had a lack of information, but unless 2k are keeping this hidden WELL up their sleeves until the last minute, there have been zero mentions of any new teams being added to the game outside of the Dream Team, Team USA, Australia and some DLC college teams.

Again, could be early days, and info could still drop, but the legends haven't been mentioned at all. Just online modes. My career, Pro am and the other usual suspects.

All evidence so far points to there being no new inclusions, nor many improvements.

As far as taking teams out who are missing players, sure, I get that, but at least consider replacing that team with another. I know the deal with money and player likeness rights yada yada, but c'mon. Stop taking stuff OUT of the game. They should be in the realm of adding things now with the platform we're on.

Fine, but if you listed the top 10 most requested historic teams, it'd be unlikely you'd find even one that fell in the 1965-91 range.

Just saying even if they added a bunch of the most requested teams it wouldn't be a surprise if they were all 1993 and later.

2K isn't stupid. They know everyone wants the Barkley Suns, Webber Kings and Miller Pacers. Adding just one of those would satisfy a lot of people for at least another year. And given both Webber and Barkley have been confirmed in 2K17 in other roles it isn't unrealistic to believe there might be an announcement coming next week.

Better yet, how about we right the wrong of 2k16 and get Rasheed Wallace in the game so the 00 blazers and 04 pistons can actually become playable?
