My Teams
NFL- San Francisco 49ers
NBA- Los Angeles Lakers
NHL- Anaheim Ducks
MLB - Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim
NCAA - USC -
The linebacker crew is looking nasty. This is just the type of infusion of talent we needed at the position, particularly with us being a 3-4 team. I really look forward to watching this young "Dome Patrol" grow up these next few seasons.
This team is coming together quite nicely, and as you'll see in a moment, we're not quite done possibly adding talent. This off-season recruiting pool is pretty rich in talent. I still have three recruiting weeks to sim through, but we have at least a shot at landing a few big fish.Click here to read my dynasty report:

Recruiting | Nation's #2 CB McGill narrows list
Wed, 29 Jan 2025 07:41:15 -0700
Eve Jewell of TulaneInsider.com reports that 5-star CB Ronald McGill (6-0, 180, 4.32 40 time, #2 rated CB) has narrowed his list of school choices down to Florida, Alabama, and Tulane. The Bayshore Gardens, Florida native will visit with Tulane officials this weekend, according to Jewell's report, however it is believed that his home state Florida Gators currently hold the lead for his services.
The shutdown corner is the nation's #2 prospect overall and would for certain be a plug-and-play starter for the Green Wave's already razor-thin secondary, which loses senior starting CB D.J. Keyes (74 ovr).

Recruiting | Nation's #1 WR Brady narrows list
Wed, 29 Jan 2025 07:49:28 -0700
Eve Jewell of TulaneInsider.com reports that 4-star WR Grant Brady (6-0, 170, 4.38 40-time, #1 rated WR) has narrowed his list of school choices down to USC, Notre Dame, and Tulane. The McKinney, Texas native will visit with Tulane officials this weekend, according to Jewell's report, however it is believed that USC currently holds the lead for his services.
With the Green Wave losing both WR Jason Mason (92 ovr) and WR Brandon McIntyre (97 ovr) to graduation, the blue collar wideout with sneaky speed is a student of the game and could see immediate playing time across from returning sophomore WR Adam Lawson (77 ovr, pre-progression) next fall.

Recruiting | Nation's #3 OG Stewart-Sims narrows list
Wed, 29 Jan 2025 08:01:14 -0700
Eve Jewell of TulaneInsider.com reports that 5-star OG Ryan Stewart-Sims (6-5, 276, #3 rated OG) has narrowed his list of school choices down to Alabama, USC and Tulane. The Woodland, CA native will visit with Tulane officials this weekend, according to Jewell's sources, however it is believed that defending national champion Alabama currently holds the lead for his services.
The nation's #12 overall prospect, Stewart-Sims would immediately bolster Tulane's porous offensive line, which gave up a nation-high 61 sacks last season, including an embarrassing 13 sacks given up during their 24-21 Outback Bowl loss to Michigan St. four weeks ago. He would be an immediate plug-and-play starter for the Wave, which lost both starting guards, Jay Bonner (94 ovr) and Jeremy Andrews (90 ovr), to graduation.

DG!
I just read through everything I have missed over the past few months. Man, what a tough and trying season but it is always refreshing to see such a realistic dynasty where the team isn’t going undefeated every single season.
It was tough to witness Deuce win a national title and just think “what could have been” if he had stayed at Tulane. Speaking of what could have been, Bryce Allen has to have been the biggest disappointment in Geezy’s tenure. So much promise but never came through.
The recruiting is going to be huge to getting this team back to national prominence. The linebackers you are bringing in seem to have that 3-4 defense stocked and ready to roll! It would be a huge get to grab the #2 CB to add to the defense. The WR and OG would be cherries on top but that CB is basically a must-add to this secondary.
Love this dynasty and can’t wait to see what the future brings at Tulane!

Deuce winning a title was like pouring salt on a wound for me. There's no doubt that we're a completely different team had he stayed in New Orleans. I am still stunned that he left us, much less left us for Bama of all places.
Bryce Allen without a doubt has to be the biggest disappointment of this 15-season saga thus far. He came in with such high expectations and his career started off with a bang, but it was just all downhill after that stellar freshman year. I really need to figure out how to better protect my QB, because it really is a big blow to an offense when you're rolling with a backup at such a key position.
I haven't simulated through recruiting yet, but that Ronald McGill looks incredible (I simmed ahead and skipped recruiting without saving just to get the schedule tidbit above). We have really struggled with attracting DB recruits these past few years, and those results are starting to show up on the field. I am really worried about that position group, so if we can get a guy like McGill, it would be extremely helpful and allow us to play a lot more aggressively on defense. We were at one time the new "DB U," especially during our national title runs back in the day, but those days are long gone.
Thanks for checking in my friend and again, glad to have you back on the board!Click here to read my dynasty report:

Roberts takes over an offense that surrendered a FBS-worst 61 sacks in 2024.
TULANE PROMOTES RB COACH JOE ROBERTS TO OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR
Former Green Wave running back vows to bring back a stronger emphasis on team's ground game | Roberts, who played for Geezy from 2011-2014 before joining Ole Miss as a graduate assistant, will install Rebels' offensive system with some familiar tweaks | Louisiana native will implement more shotgun running plays, including what he refers to as the "Wild Rebel" package
Exclusive report courtesy Taylor Bisciotti of the SEC Network
The Tulane Green Wave will be filling its vacant offensive coordinator post by promoting from within, naming running backs coach Joe Roberts as offensive coordinator, ESPN's SEC Network has learned. Roberts, who has been the Green Wave's running backs coach since 2021 after spending two years as a Graduate Assistant at Ole Miss, was Green Wave head coach D. Geezy's choice "very early on in the process" according to SEC Network's Taylor Bisciotti's exclusive report.
"Joe is a young man we've been grooming for a while now for this job, and quite honestly he doesn't know this, but since the day we hired him as a running backs coach, I thought he'd be our coordinator some day," Geezy told Bisciotti late Saturday night during an exclusive interview, oddly in the middle of the night.
Roberts was a 3-star recruit out of Zachary, Louisiana and a member of Geezy's first recruiting class in 2011. In 2014, Tulane's first year of its return to the SEC, Roberts rushed for a career-high 1,010 yards and 8 touchdowns as a senior.
"I believe a lot in promotion from within and also believe a lot in taking care of our own. Joe is a Louisiana native and bleeds green. He is what Tulane is all about and this decision was a no-brainer for me."
Roberts, who is 34 years old, played for Geezy from 2011 to 2014, and similar to his predecessor Curtis Byrd, who left to join the Miami Dolphins' coaching staff following a three year run as O.C. at Tulane, he was a member of Geezy's very first recruiting class in New Orleans. The Zachary, Louisiana native was a 3-star "athlete" recruit that played quarterback in high school, and he also played an integral part in the Green Wave's rebirth on the football field, a rebirth that saw the team re-join the Southeastern Conference by his senior season.
During Roberts' senior year in New Orleans, paired with then-true freshman RB Reggie Moore, he rushed for 1,010 yards and 8 touchdowns while the budding superstar Moore rushed for 1,208 yards and 11 touchdowns, and Roberts plans to implement a similar style attack.
"I really want to see this offense get back to running the ball and taking the will out of defenses," said Roberts in a prepared statement that Geezy shared with Bisciotti during their late night talk.
"We really pounded the football during my time at Tulane, both with the backs and the QB, and I feel like we've somewhat gotten away from that. Don't get me wrong, we will still air it out, but I think we need to get back to having a smashmouth philosophy. I really envision RB Tony Tompkins and FB J.J. Williams in particular being a one-two punch similar to myself and Reggie a decade ago."
According to Bisciotti, Geezy will remain the team's play-caller, but Roberts will be in charge of implementing the team's game plans on a week-to-week basis. The team's playbook will be a hybrid of the Saints/Syracuse system used by Geezy from 2010-2019, but will take several pages from the Ole Miss system Roberts is familiar with from his stint there as a coach. The Green Wave will re-implement its Wildcat package it had during Roberts' playing days (which will be called the "Wild Rebel" package), and will also have more shotgun formation inventory to help improve the team's protection issues last season. The Wave gave up a FBS-worst 61 sacks last season, including a whopping 13 sacks surrendered during their 24-21 Outback Bowl game loss to Michigan St., and Geezy believes Roberts is the guy to fix the issue.
"Last year, the bottom kind of fell out in terms of pass-pro, and I think Joe's vision of us turning more towards the running game will help fix that," said the legendary 16th year head coach, whose team has not won an SEC title since 2021. "In our win this past season against Ole Miss, it was Joe that suggested we pound the rock with the fullback, and that went a long way for us and taught us a lesson."
"We have a lot of nice pieces on offense to get this done, and I know he's anxious to start working with (quarterback) Jimmy McBride with the new offense. This new system will suit Jimmy's style well, while also helping to compliment the defense, and I think we will find our recipe to dominate again."
Editor's Note:
This offensive coordinator change will be manifested video game-wise by me changing my team's offensive playbook from "Miami" to "Ole Miss." We will also be leaning much heavier on the running game with a two running back system as well as the tight end in the passing game, both staples of Tulane's offense during Roberts' time as a player under Coach Geezy. As was the case before, I will rely on the "Ask Coach" feature to select my play calls, which simulates my offensive coordinator handing myself, the play-calling head coach, the weekly play-call sheet.

Love the back story to your new offensive coordinator and how it is implemented into the playbook decision and game planning. I’ve been dying to start a new dynasty with UNC and was planning on focusing on a dual RB system with the TE being the main passing target. Sounds like we are on to the same path when it comes to offense.

Seconded - that playbook post was phenomenal. I love how you bring back some of your old players to be on staff, just as would be the case in real life. Best of luck pulling in those targeted recruits as they could really pull this new offense together.Check out We have a football team too..Guru's UConn Huskies in Dynasty HQ!

I studied our offense during Joey Roberts' senior season, and plan to try to mimic it the best we can. RB Tony Tompkins and FB J.J. Williams will each get about 12 to 15 carries a piece per game, just like Roberts and Reggie Moore did back in 2014, pretty much split down the middle. We will also throw the ball to our backs and tight ends a lot more, but as you'll see in a moment, we'll have some very good wide receiver options to get the ball to as well. We have a lot of mouths to feed this season!
Why is Joe Roberts a coach? Because he was a very good, unheralded 3-star player for us with subpar, non-NFL worthy ratings. The story line also says that he was an "Athlete" prospect that played QB in high school, so he has the smarts. "He" also made one of the smartest, heads-up plays of this dynasty back in the day:
Seems like the perfect type of player that wind up surfacing in the coaching world. There is a reason why he is a coach, and as those that have been following closely from the beginning know, there is also a reason that Eve Jewell is so dialed into the Tulane recruiting scene.Last edited by Deegeezy; 10-24-2017, 11:01 AM.Click here to read my dynasty report:

Tulane | Nation's top WR Brady commits
Tue, 4 Feb 2025 07:06:37 -0700
Eve Jewell of TulaneInsider.com reports that, following his in-home visit with Tulane officials, 4-star WR Grant Brady (6-0, 170, 4.38 40-time, #1 rated WR) has committed to Tulane University. The McKinney, Texas native is the nation's 42nd overall rated prospect, and had narrowed his choices down to Tulane, Notre Dame, and USC, but chose the Green Wave following an in-home visit this past weekend with Wave officials.
Brady, who has deceptive speed and is like a coach on the field, should immediately bolster a Tulane offense that has lost graduating seniors Brandon McIntyre (97 ovr) and Jason Mason (94 ovr). Considered by many recruiting analysts to have the best hands of this class and a "lunch pail kind of guy," Brady is likely to start across from returning 6-6 sophomore WR Adam Lawson (77 ovr, pre-progression) this upcoming fall.
Brady was a high volume receiver for the McKinney Lions, hauling in 97 catches as senior. He also proved to be a dynamo return man, returning 3 kickoffs for touchdowns and 2 punt returns for scores this past season, and could immediately see the field on special teams for head coach D. Geezy's squad.

Recruiting | 4-star DE Evans commits
Tue, 4 Feb 2025 07:10:31 -0700
Eve Jewell of TulaneInsider.com reports that 4-star DE Ricky Evans (6-4, 250, 4.74 40 time, #9 rated DE) has committed to Tulane University. The Waverly, Tennessee native had narrowed his choices down to Tulane, Alabama, and Georgia Tech, and chose the Green Wave despite never having an in-home visit with school officials.
The 72nd overall rated prospect in the nation, Evans should immediately help bolster the Green Wave's front-7 depth in defensive coordinator Karl Dunbar's 3-4 unit, a unit that has already been bolstered via a trio of 4-star linebacker commitments.

Recruiting | Pair of blue chip prospects to decide on Signing Day
Tue, 4 Feb 2025 08:23:41 -0700
Eve Jewell of TulaneInsider.com reports that 5-star CB Ronald McGill (6-0, 180, 4.32 40 time, #2 rated CB) and 5-star OG Ryan Stewart-Sims (6-5, 276, #3 rated OG) both had great visits with Tulane officials over the weekend, and both are expected to announce their destination on Wednesday's National Signing Day.
McGill, a Florida native and the nation's #2 overall prospect, is expected to choose between Alabama, Florida, and Tulane. The shutdown corner is the nation's #2 overall rated prospect and would for certain be a plug-and-play starter for the Green Wave's already razor-thin secondary, which loses senior starting CB D.J. Keyes (74 ovr).
Stewart-Sims, a California native and the nation's 12th overall rated prospect, is expected to choose between Alabama, Tulane, and USC. He would also likely be an immediate plug-and-play starter for the Wave, which lost both starting guards, Jay Bonner (94 ovr) and Jeremy Andrews (90 ovr), to graduation.
