For those of you who were following my MTSU dynasty, that will no longer be continued. I tried to relive my reign at MTSU from years ago and just couldn't get into it. I think there were a couple reasons why.

One thing was I've played with so many schools that aren't in a Power 5 conference that it wore on me playing against miserable conference foes on a weekly basis. To go along with playing in a poor conference, recruiting seemed way too hit-or-miss since I was recruiting low-level talent without scouting. At least at a Power 5 school I should be able to find serviceable players to keep us afloat on a regular basis and then allow Hellisan's random progression to wreak havoc on my guys haha.

Secondly, running an Air Raid/Spread Attack offense isn't really my style. I love to run the football and with that team and the way I started the dynasty, it wasn't going to happen. Throwing the ball is fun and all but that's not my style. With UNC I plan on featuring two runningbacks at all times and getting the tight ends involved as much as possible. I may even sprinkle in a couple carries a game for my fullback. Who knows?

Anyways, I'm very excited to get this started and sim out the first four seasons. It will be fun to get a lay of the land, see who has dominated the conferences across the country for the first four seasons as well as on the recruiting trail. Maybe there will be some conference shakeups by the time this thing is ready to roll. Until then, it could take a while for me to be fully prepared to start playing.

Thanks Dee! I follow your dynasty religiously and you continue to be an inspiration for what I’m looking for in my own dynasties. I’m going to use your idea of asking the coach for plays to get a feel for the offensive and defensive coordinators putting together a game plan and then I pick from those three plays. Going to be interesting to see how this works!

As for the recruiting rules, they aren’t nearly as rigid as ones I have used in the past. The reason being is that with Hellisan’s random improvement guide there is always a chance my guys will bust as 5* players or boom as 2* players so I can’t really restrict myself too much. The decision was almost equally about recruiting as it was with the action on the field. Recruiting battles, especially losing recruits to other, bigger programs in the ACC, will lead me to following their careers and really keeping tabs on them when we square off.

I'm starting the file now and just selected a random coach to take over. I'm going to sim all the way to 2017 and then create a new coach as the HC at UNC. Here goes nothing!

Thanks and hope you stick around after I say this: I dislike all teams based out of Pittsburgh lol. Hopefully you can pull for my UNC team 11 out of 12 games a year.

The recruiting rules are simple, fair and realistic so they shouldn't be too difficult to implement. Those along with the random progression will add some excitement to this dynasty.

I was able to sim the first season today after setting up the dynasty with the proper rosters, conferences and sliders. Now I'll be collecting some data at the end of each season to get a review and explain where we are in this nearly fully fictional world of the 2017 season!

I haven't been around the boards a whole lot in the past two months. Glad to see you pursuing things in Chapel Hill. Certainly should be able to pull some stud recruits who don't want to take real classes and such! Lol. Your MTSU dynasty had fantastic presentation and I look forward to following this!
